Looking to flip a bike. Owner wants $125 (did not negotiate this yet) IF I buy this , clean it up really good and ebay it...what do you think it's worth?

Beat up fairly well but it looks like it would clean up really well too, so.....??

Archer hub in the rear of course..... looks to be all original.

it looks to like you might be buying from a flipper.

I don't know about your market but that bike looks expensive to me at $125.

If you clean it up and repair anything that needs repairs, maybe some new tires etc. it should flip on CL for around $125 +/- $25. If you flip it on ebay, deduct around $60 for shipping so it should sell for around $65-75.
Dunelts are nice bikes, very similar to Raleigh. It wouldn't surprise me if they were the same firm. But they don't have the heritage of Raleigh so they don't sell for as much.
On the bike in the pic, no it's good for flipping but if you want a keeper???? maybe.

There are a few issues with that bike that make it seem like a questionable investment to me. I believe the chain guard is incorrect (have never seen a chrome chainguard on a Raleigh-made 3-speed); the bolt for the handlebar clamp is incorrect; the saddle is incorrect and weird; the edges of the front fender have been badly damaged and bent away from the wheel--is the fork twisted?--; the downtube is damaged; the shifter cable housing is damaged; and the wheels seem to have a lot of heavy rust on them.

I would think you could find a similar bicycle without any such issues for the same or less money.

Talk him down on account of that seat.

A bit over priced for what it is IMHO and definitely NOT flipping material at that price. FWIW Dunelt was a second tier Raleigh brand.

Well just rain on my parade why don't ya! ;-)

Seriously, thank you all for your input. I will pass on this one as I have enough bikes already and wanted to flip one quickly. I just don't know enough about English 3 speeds other than they are growing in popularity. Thought maybe this might be a good deal but wanted your advice first....so thanks.

Yeah, ggod price for a keeper. Wouldn't turn a profit.
My wife doesn't say I have enough bikes. She just says."basement's full. where's that one going?"

Asking price is at or exceeds what finished/rehabbed value would be in many markets. Looks like a DKO, dirt knocker offer, didn't even clean this bike.

Don't know jack about flipping bicycles, but had one of
these new back in the day. About like a Raleigh and
definitely made by them at this point, but +1 on the above
and all the other observations.

my wife's message is getting through.

It gives me some hope to see a fellow addict
come to Jesus bicyclewise. There may
be some hope for us both--or not.
