I am in need of some new brake pads for my road bike. Do you guys have any thoughts or recommendations?

kool-stops are pretty good, in my experience. I have had bad luck with the dura-ace 7700 pads. they really tore up my rims.

Ditto. Koolstop blacks are great shoes. I'll add that I was talking to someone from one of the best lbs' in the area about this several months ago. He said that the Shimano pads have been corrected and that the old ones did noticably abrade and take metal off rims. He said the way to tell was to look for the name "Shimano" and one dot on the side. Anything else was not good (DA, 2 dots, etc.)
