Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Specialized Hardrock Sport Mountain Bike. Not sure what year but I think it is pretty old. (Pic attached).
Everything is original except the tires which are new (but the cheap kind). Rode it around ... felt nice.
Cost me $50

Nice. I'd have bought that for $50. I'd make it my touring bike.

Price sounds about right to me.
Mid / latter 90's steel.
Fork was replaced no doubt by somebody lacking grace.
That's the bike that got me into MTB'ing. I hopped on my friend's HR and was freakin' floored by the excessive gearing.

$50. ???????/ that was a very good day for you. Ride hard and get your legs in shape. It will provide a lot of fun.
Looks just like one that I picked up recently, if it is its a 1995 going off of the components on mine.

@push- Looks like the same thing, good to know what year it is.
Checked out your blog. Out of curiosity how much did you buy it and sell it for after fixing the grip shifter?
@ chelboed and Daspydyr- looking forward to hitting some trails in the summer. Kinda cold right now to (I'm in Chicago)

I got it for a whopping 30 seconds of my time to pick it up and put it onto my bike rack, it was at the dump if you can believe that! I have yet to sell it (haven't put it on CL yet) but as soon as spring gets here it will be going up as its way too small for me and Wify doesn't seem interested in keeping it for herself.

yes yes I realize this is a year old thread :P but I wanted to respond since I sold the bike, Sold it for $115, did not fix the shifter, I was up front about it with the buyer, the bike shifted with the damaged shifter and he didn't seem too concerned about it going off of the smile on his face as he loaded it into his truck.
Don't do it! DON'T DO IT!!!!!!!!!!
Oops, too late.
