So I'm ordering a new wheelset from velomine, and I'm poorer than **** so its come down to cxp22's or dp18's. I know that the dp18's will be a little bit more rugged than the cxp22's but also almost 200g heavier. Anyone with some insight to build quality/experiences with these wheels? Danka

CXP22s are great for the price, had a pair and they took a beating. DP18s are silly but good if you really want the color. Right now I have a pair of H Plus Son rims laced up to Miche, love them to death but my opinion is that shallower rims just ride nicer because they are lighter weight. You won't be disappointed with the Mavics.

The Eighthinch Amelia wheelset is only $100 shipped complete with tires and a cog and lockring. Just sayin...

I've held a pair of Amelias and the hubs were very rough. If you can spring for something with sealed Formula hubs, do it. Velomine has a silver DP18 set for $100 right now.

you might want to have the spoke tension reworked if you buy from velomine.
The wheelset I bought from them was terrible in build quality. The good thing is they were so cheap, that spending time fixing up the wheels were still cheaper than having them built properly by a shop or myself.

I just want to point out that comparing the original Madison rims, original Kilo rims, and the Velocity Deep V rims the lightest weight set was the Deep V's

I'm riding stock kilo rims right now, and they feel like giant spaghetti O's. I would go for deep vees but I just can't afford it. Right now I'm leaning for the cxp22's and formula hubs.

When you buy a prebuilt set, particularly machine built sets, have the LBS check them out to make sure they are evenly tensioned like Kol.klink said. CXP22 with Formula hubs, properly built, should last a lifetime(with proper maintenance and no stupid tricks).

Check IRO website, they're on sale. I love mine, they are lighter and roll better than dp18s
