I just recently started exploring some of the trails at mac forests, mostly posted ones on the map. Then I started hearing some names in other threads like alien, endo, zig zag ect. I have know idea where these are and would be stoked if a local happed upon this thread and wanted to explain how to get to some of these. Also, wheres the mud up there? Im always seeing XC riders coming back soaked and wanted to know how to coin that look for myself. Thanks much.

Well i dont know the area but why dont you ask some of the local riders there? I know that most of the people i have met on the trails have been fairly nice people (always a couple of exceptions) im sure someone will fill you in on the hot spots :)

Start at Peavy Arboretum... ride up the gravel road for a bit. There are a ton of trails that peel off of there- just ask someone there which ones to take. (Sorry, it's been a few years since I lived down there, and can't remember exactly where the trails peel off.)

Another good place to start is up Highland drive, park at Chip Ross Park. From there ride up. Dan's Trail and Extendo are up there, both pretty nice trails. You can also get to alien, area 51, beesting, ect. from there.
