I have to wake up and head to the airport at 4 in the morning. I can't wait! I need a bike asap. My budget isn't what I hoped it would be. I just got a macbook pro (was a need, not a want).

lets ride!

You 'needed' a mac book pro? The school you're going to required you purchase that specific computer?

If the weather is OK - might have to get him up to Beacon on Sun, or next weekend - Bob offered his bike for a ride or 2 (he can tag along on his new Transition)

Your annoying.

You're going to college? Maybe you should learn to spell first.

BTW, you could have bought a Dell and saved maybe $500-$1000. But instead you'll bum rides and parts off of people because you had to have the Macbook. That's nice of you.

If the weather is OK - might have to get him up to Beacon on Sun, or next weekend - Bob offered his bike for a ride or 2 (he can tag along on his new Transition)That would be cool, cyco; very nice of B. Some runs can be had on the Yet-eye too, even though it'll priobably be largish and oversprung for him. Want you guys to get a run on it too and tell me what you think.

Sunday sounds great if you guys don't mind. How do I gear up?Riding shorts and platform pedal shoes will do. If you feel the need, I have three spare sets of armor plus a couple different full face helmets to choose from; oh and a somewhat tatty set of knee-shins.

yikes. I think he was saying in most cases a mac is more expensive than a dell although the dell will do just about everything if you take care of it. way to stand up for your friend though while he is on a plane somewhere. According to you if you have a dell you are sacrificing your education. I have had the same dell for 8 years and my education seems just fine. Best part about his mac is he can take naughty videos edit them and sell them for money to buy his fancy toy. But what do I know? my education has been sacrificed due to my computer choice.

Oh boy, such a number of things to cover on this one. Where to even start...

He paid $400. Somehow I doubt Dell would have paid him $100-600 for getting one of their computers (though they should). You could have asked what he paid instead of making assumptions, but instead you came off looking like a total d-bag. That's nice of you.

He could have bought a Dell. And then another one in a year when the cheap battery overheated his computer & fried the processor. And then another one a year later after hackers easily found their way around a number of computer-slowing virus protectors. And then another one yet again, for a long list of other possible reasons why Dell & Gateway have no place in the computer world.

Or he can buy a Mac, like I did after having two Dells fail on me in less than a year, & have it run strong after 6 years of shady-website abuse & not a hint of virus protection. If you're going to recommend a MS OS, at LEAST recommend a company with quality parts & hardware put into their computers, like Toshiba or Compaq.

Honestly, on a forum that stresses quality so much, why would you recommend he buy the 'Next Power X' of computers to get him through college, just so that he can afford a nicer bicycle? That's terrible advice, & I lost any potential respect I could have ever had for you because you're honestly trolling a forum telling kids they should sacrifice their education so they can get nicer toys. You're a ******.

What the **** are you talking about? I asked him a simple question, if his school required that computer, and he replied that I was annoying. He could have answered honestly, but he chose not to. If you could get your face out of your friend's crotch for a second you would see that.

So I made an assumption about the cost of his computer. Big deal.

Get of your high horse Sam, you're looking too much like Johnny up there.

Here's a fun activity. Reread this entire thread and replace the word Apple with SRAM and the word Dell with Shimano (or 29er / 26" or singlespeed / 9-speed, etc.)

That's how silly you all look.

My Mac does that, but lands a little smoother & requires no skill or prior knowledge in order to perform such a feat. You just turn it on & you're instantly a world champ.:thumb:

Dude, you found the video of my accident, where was it? Leave it to Big D.

You guys need to put a Mountain Bike wine tour together for this summer. Spokane has some good vino these days.

dminor
01-28-11, 03:15 PM
Walla Walla's even better. Over 100 wineries - - a lot of them estate - - and most all with 7-day-a-week tasting rooms :).

Of note in Spokane though: Arbor Crest Winery is an easy tool down the Centennial Trail from Beacon Hill.

Oh, and the vid? I just googled "daspydyr eats sh*t" and that was the first hit that popped up. I think Dana doing some 'get well dance' to you was #2 but I could not see it, as it was evidently NSFW.
