Wrong totally wrong.

There's nothing in Pocahontas about the Tree getting torn up.

That made me cry.

Eywa isn't mentioned either.

Try again.

Your loss. It's plot is thin but it is an absolute feast for the eyes.

I left about 2/3 into it. I have no desire to see how it ended.

I usually don't like fantasy type movies but I actually went and bought this.

Crap movie. Pocahantas was a well drawn babe, but the blue chick in Avatar was a mutt. I'm tired of special effects. The are used to cover a bad script & weak story.

avatar was better than pocahontas.

for one, it wasn't some 35yr old spanish pedophile getting married to a 14yr old indian girl.

14 year olds in those times were MUCH more mature than the 14 year olds of today.

And were 35 year old Spanish pedophiles less mature? If so, it should have been a perfect match!

hmmm, well, considering she died at like... 22.
at 14 years old, she lived for more than 63% of her life, so that would make her like 40 something by today's standards.

I thoroughly enjoyed the movie....and wish I saw it in 3D....

It was just the same old colonialist story. European governments seem to have had difficulty grasping the idea that the natives are people with feelings and may not want to be ruled and exploited by some foreign government.....
That is why I liked the movie....it was a colorful re-telling of history...without the tragic ending....

Emotionally and socially.

Pedophilia is is a very recent term. Also men and women became adults at the time of puberty in those days and society made them grow up faster. I know it's a very hard concept to grasp but that's the way they lived.
