It was an 87 mile trip from Dun Laoghaire to Wexford down the east coast here in Ireland. Paul is the stoker, that's me piloting. It was in aid of the National Council for the Blind here, organised by the Mrs. Quinns Charity Shop network.

87 miles was tough on those tyres and with the low gearing and weight. There were 13 tandems in total, a lot of Treks (T2000s) and a couple of nice Cannondales, alongside our heavier Orbitas.

Fun day, and they had showers and a meal organised for us at the end, which made up for the final 2 miles which happened to be the biggest hill of the day (now that was cruel!)

Looks like balmy weather... hope the Guiness tap was nearby! Don't you love a route with the worst hills at the very end????

Sadly I couldn't partake in the Guinness that night - I had a rugby match the next day (now after *that* there was plenty!).

As for the weather - we got absolutely drenched in a torrential downpour, which only lasted 15 minutes thankfully. The wind quickly dried us off after a cup of tea warmed us up.

A "cup a" is great to ward off the chill, or anytime for that matter!
