My 54cm Surly LHT with racks to include mount for handlebar bag weighs 33.3lbs.
My tour partner's 2010 56cm Kona Sutra with 700mm wheels, and the same setup as my LHT except it doesn't have the mounts for a handlebar bag is 33.6 lbs.
We weighed both of them the day he brought his home.

It weighs a lot less without its motor. Maybe I should restrict the fueling stops.
One of the bikes I have been thinking of using for a weekend tour is my Novara Transfer commuter bike. It is just about ready for touring as is with fenders, rear rack, dynamo lights, Randonneur tires, etc. The internal geared hub and weight have been making me hesitant to try it. The hub I can probably get away with by getting a larger cog in the back (42x21 currently) but the weight I'm not sure. Last time I weighed it with the way it came stock was about 38lbs which now reading these posts doesn't seem to be too bad for a bike set up as I described.

My Specialized Tricross Expert (aluminum frame with carbon forks and carbon seat stays) weighed 20.5 lbs at the shop when I bought it. The rear rack will weigh just over a pound. I actually contacted Specialized customer service yesterday about weight limits and they said 40lbs front and 40 lbs back are the limits - way more than I thought. I'm only going to have a rear set of bags and a handlebar bag, so my load will be much less, probably about 17.5 lbs including the rack and bags. This is for a CC setup.
Rivendell Rambouillet with rack, 23lbs.

That was going to be my exact answer! :D
One of the LBSs has an informal reverse weight-weenie competition. They keep notes on a whiteboard of the heaviest daily-use whips. I held top spot for about a week at 50.1 pounds, but then one of the shop employees built up some steel rims for his bike and scored ~54 pounds. Nobody has yet been able to bump him off the top spot.

My 54cm with brooks flyer, racks, and fenders is 33.3 lbs. Is that where the difference is; the brooks saddle? That is a heavy saddle, but worth it to me.

I was in a bike shop last week and finally got a real look at the Brooks saddles. I have been thinking about buying one, but the weight has kept me away. Lately, I was thinking that the weight difference was all in my head and that I wouldn't notice it. So, in the shop, I picked one up and mistook it for a boat anchor! Heavy, and I do mean heavy. Maybe I'll pop for a titanium rail one...

comfy though.
sbrdude, I would love to have the titanium rail B-17 but I just can't get myself to cough up that many $ for saving such little weight when I know where I can cut numerous pounds for free.

Yep, the only way for it to make sense is if everything else was already lightweight, including the rider. I'm doing the best to make sure I'm not the anchor! Still, it's a tough call for me. I've never had anything but a racing saddle, but I also haven't ever needed to put so many hours on a saddle on a daily basis. My friend bought one, so I'm waiting to see how he likes his, as he also comes from a racing saddle background.

I love my flyer, and I won't tour without it. So the 1st of Jan compelled me to make a resolution to get down to at least 170 pounds. I'm losing about a pound a week. But this isn't free, there is a lot of work involved! And less eating too...that's costly! ;)

Considering that my TCR weighs in the 15's... it's pretty damn heavy when riding unloaded.

My touring bike, based around the Nashbar frame, is around 23lbs. That's without racks, water, fenders and luggage. Bottles and 68oz of water (2x24oz + 1x20oz) add around 5lbs. Handlebar bag, Carradice Nelson Longflap, and credit card touring gear (clothes, spares, etc) adds 22lbs for a total weight of around 50lbs.

When I weighed my 42cm LHT it had a full XT drive train and heavy duty RhinoLite 36h wheels on XT hubs. It was 30lbs.
I have changed the wheels to 32h Bontrager Mustangs so it might weigh a bit less now.

Hmmm, that seems like a lot. I have a Trek 520 as well, and I weighed it once before a trip two years ago. I can't remember now what the result was (I'll have to dig it up, I have it written down somewhere), but I'm pretty certain it was under 40. Of course, I do have the smallest available frame size . . .
