Foo - Boss got beat up...

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
So, my boss went to this club with a friend and he got his arse kicked. When I saw him at work he was wearing a snow cap and it was so weird, because he never wears hats during work. Anyway, he told me what happened and apparently he was at a club where there were mostly Korean's and he was with a black friend. She was the only black girl in the club and they both were being pestered by one of the workers there. She [a worker] was bugging them, so my boss kicks her in the leg (big mistake, dude) and then she gets a bouncer who beats the crap out of him. Man, when he came to work he was really banged up. No one at my job likes him so basically they thought that he got what he deserved, but damn...if I were him I would have just left the place and gone somewhere else. :twitchy:

Did I just read that right? Did your boss (a man) kick a woman? Granted that it's crap that the woman was pestering them, but unless she was attacking them with a weapon and needed to be neutralized so they could escape, I'd say the bouncer threw him a beating he deserved. You're right - he should have just left. I'm sure there are other clubs in So Cal.

+1. Man hits a women, he deserves an asswhuppin'. Dumb enough to start a fight when he's out numbered, deserves an asswhuppin'. Doesn't have the sense to leave a bad scene, deserves an asswhuppin'.
Makes you wonder what the whole story is.....
+1 Kicking female employee @ bouncer equipped place.... deserves asswhooping
Educations can be expensive or painful. I think he got the latter.
bad club choice - strike one
bad idea to stay - strike two
bad idea to kick employee, much less female - strike three
yep, while a possibly racist employee was pestering them, not the brightest of ideas to buy the fight, so to say. It might have worked if he had a posse of at least 20 peeps, all over 200lbs.
Just walk away and complain to the better business bureau, city or news station.
News stations love these stories.
I think it should be a pre-requisite to be a boss that you have had the crepe beaten out of you. These bossy types need to be on the receiving end of a good beating to [a] wise them up to what it's like to be picked on, and [2] let them know there excrement stinks like everyone else.

While I agree with this, I also am convinced that these kinds of people, who make obviously poor choices and assumptions, are also most likely to draw the wrong conclusions from a corrective beatdown. Humility and understanding are hard to instill in denseminded and privileged people.

Having the sense to leave is something some folks do not have.
Several times I made the decision to extract myself from a facility when I sensed that I was not wanted. A couple times it was a race-hostility thing, but more often I noticed the locals did not seem to cotton to a stranger wanting to spend money in "their" bar. I'd be getting bumped as they were just hoping I'd say something. I promptly left, teeth intact.
If you're gonna get physical AT ALL, you need to have good cause; pride or annoyance are not on that list. I've been threatened by FAMILY over some pride issue, and just endure, because shedding blood over some macho-boy sh** is just unutterably stupid.
1. Threaten harm to my KIDS;
2. Try to steal my bike;
3. Try to run me off the road.
That about covers it; otherwise, you'll be throwing the first punch.
But I will throw the last one.
Boss-boy was a fool.

The lesson is never go to a club you know nothing about
Not sure how a snow cap (whatever the eff that is)figures into this story.Did the Koreans shave his head and tatoo something obscene on top?Did the boss make a cat-joke to the Korean chef?
Could you buy your boss an Anaheim Ducks or LA Kings cap instead of a "snow cap"?Not much snow @ your area.

Oh, get this. I just found out yesterday that he threw an ashtray at the bouncer...

I was thinking the exact same thing. And, dang, you don't kick or hurt women under any cercumstances. That was just uncalled for for him to do, and to think nothing would be done about it after what he did was also dumb. He said he was intoxicated, but still, I don't care how intoxicated you are, you don't hit women. So, reporting it to the news bureau would be better because it would show how this club treats it's customers. Not professional at all. And what he did just made things worse. His friend took him to the hospital and he just came back to work the next day like nothing happened.

Tell me about it! He is really weird like that. He is kind of a wimp when it comes to the cold. Heck, he said the reason why he wore it was to cover his bruises. But he just kept showing it to people at work and explained to them the reason why he wore it. Heck, some girls might find it hot haha! But yeah, oh and he shaved his head because it was his life changing phase where he quit smoking, only to start again. How do I know all this? He tells this story to everyone! Including the customers!
So how old is this guy again?

This would solve so many problems. Some people may not come off as arrogant, but they still have arrogant attitudes. (I wonder if my boss reads this thread.)

If I read that right, (your boss kicked a woman because she was "pestering" him) then your boss got what he deserved. What a jack*** and what a moron. He could have simply walked out and perhaps talked to the manager on the way out.

Ignoring the stupidity on the part of the boss, I find it interesting that most people in this thread are strongly against hitting women, but don't seem to draw a similar strong conclusion about hitting people. Mind you there are very few circumstances when I'll hit a guy, but all of those also apply to the other half. I'm happy to treat ladies as ladies, but I'd prefer to just treat them as equals instead, and that goes both ways.

Rule #1...never start a fight
Rule #2...if someone else starts the fight, end it as quickly as possible.
Rule #3...if you can't do rule #2, GTFOD!
I still say the "boss"used the "wok the dog" joke on the Korean chef.

Rule #2=big fail, you'll end up wearing a "snow cap" with your ass in a sling.
Throw several ashtrays like ninja stars as you run out of the place.

It's just the way I was raised and I just feel strongly that you shouldn't hit women under any circumstances. However, if someone is attacking you, then you can defend yourself by blocking the blows or something like that, but engaging in something with a female I am just against very much. Playing around is one thing, but it's no excuse even if you are intoxicated to hit, let alone kick, a woman. But that's for your honest opinion.

Only once do I remember being somewher I thought it best to leave. Didn't even leave that time as the reason to leave was a bunch of young and ot my eye unblooded punks came into a bar I was in. I decided to finish my beer as qucikly as possible (without looking like I was finishing fast and fleeing). But before I finished a Hells Angel came an and hugged the bouncer. A second was not far behind. I was no longer concerend about the punks anymore.
