Bit of a strange topic, but I recently started started my first internship where I sit and use a computer for most of day. I have perfect 20:20 vision, but my eyes seem to get tired and slightly hazy after staring at the white fluorescent screen for awhile. Is there any type of glasses, I would assume just some sort of tint/filter, that are meant for helping out eyes when staring at computer screen all day?

I don't know if there are any glasses for this purpose, but I do know there are filters that fit over your computer display for this same purpose.

Try adjusting the brightness and contrast on the screen.

Talk to an eye doctor. There are lenses specifically to help with the glare from computer screens. The doctor will probably be able to set you up with glasses you can keep on your desk and wear only when you're working.

Also, studies have shown that people blink a lot less when reading a computer screen than they do normally, which can cause the symptoms you're describing. Keep a bottle of eye drops or natural tears by the computer and get into the habit of using them regularly.

you can change the default colors to a less bothersome color palette. I use a very light beige instead of pure white and tweak a few other colors too.

You may have 20:20 vision, which is measured at distance, but are you old enough to have persbyopia which affects your ability to focus up close?

I am a bit nearsighted which helps me to work on computers, this gives me an advantage over you. At work I wear weak reading glasses because I'm pretty close to the monitor, but at home I'm a few inches farther away and I can see the screen just fine without my glasses. You could try weak drug store reading glasses, or you could have a doctor make you some even weaker glasses for your computer use.

Talk to an optometrist about computer glasses, i.e. glasses that will optimize your focus to about arms length.
The human eye is designed to focus at a distance, and requires internal muscle tension for near focus.
Computer glasses enable the eye to do near focus with less muscle tension, and may postpone the onset of presbyopia.

This. I know several people who work with computers and have glasses that they wear just for working on the computer at work.

I got my first pair of glasses for the very same reason 20 years ago. I regretted that decision ever since. After wearing the glasses all day at work, I started needing them at home.

Yes you may need glasses, however I'd recommend first adjusting your computer screen's colour, brightness and contrast settings. If you're still using an old style CRT make sure you check the hertz value. Also, make sure you take regular breaks away from the computer. Get up and walk around for 10 minutes every couple of hours. If all that doesn't work, go to an optometrist.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I will try adjusting the brightness and colors and see if that helps at all.
