Would anyone else besides me have interest in MSW Derp V wheelsets? In black and silver perhaps?

I've been looking at Electric Blue Deep V for a long time now

MSW or NMSW? I like to at least have the front machined so I can run a brake, but then I like things symmetrical so I might as well have both machined...

If it came in any other size besides 25.4 I'd consider it. Damn that stem cap looks HAWT!

Hey Scrod, Are you going to stock the new I-806TR V2??

Absolutely.

Cuanto cuesta? In other words how would the prices compare to the I05?

Wait... I thought the new I-806TR wouldn't be drilled for a brake?

I got a chance at getting a prototype pre release of this at my LBS/ leader dealer for a discount. They look great but only on a freestyle/ downhill bike...

They didn't change anything? OR did they just restock another batch if I presume correctly? Because if I recall correctly the V1 was curved and the version that they pulled was exactly like that^.

Pretty sure that's a different fork altogether. The new batch of I806TR forks will be exactly the same as the last.

They don't look white in real life. The pics I posted on the previous page are pretty accurate.

Scrod, do you have a weight on the Alex/Novatech wheelset? Considering them for my Kilo (rear wheel is trashed :( )

Also very excited about the new straps, it will be nice to have an option other than the overpriced/shipped from Europe Auroras.

That's the weight of one rim. Not the whole wheelset.

You'd need to use bolts to secure the front strap but yeah, they'll work.

I don't have an actual weight of the wheels built up but I'll throw a set on the scale Monday and report back.

Yeah, we figured it was time to unleash another strap - especially because so many people always ask about the V1.5s being compatible with track pedals. The set I've been testing on my 722 are awesome.

-1 This would be considerably less cool. For that we got nashbar. You've got the best "boutique" site on the net. Just keep selling the stuff you personally like.

I just thought it would be a good idea. You're right, I can't really see Retrogression carrying full groupsets, lycra kits, and bottle cages, but it would be cool to have a couple road specific items. And +1 for roadie stuff from Nashbar.

Scrod, did you stop making the Calv jacket? If not, any ETA on getting some in large?

Scrodzilla
08-22-11, 08:32 AM
We've tossed the idea back & forth a bit but I feel we wouldn't be able to compete with sites like Nashbar or PricePoint when it comes to roadie stuff so we're steering clear of it. If anyone is ever looking for something specific though, please feel free to ask and I can see about getting it for you at a good price. Also, if we can't get it to you cheaper than another site/store, we'll always let you know and give you a link to where you can get it.

We are in no way trying to be some over-hyped "fixed-gear boutique" store - we're just doing what we love, making/carrying stuff we're into and people seem to dig what we've been doing. That said, you guys have always been really supportive and it's definitely appreciated. Our BFSSFG family is awesome.

I think that carrying things that cross over (more handlebars, rims, perhaps hubs, seats, etc) as well as conversion kits (chain tensioner's, single speed conversion kits, eno hubs, perhaps even internal gear hubs) would perhaps bridge the gap better, but its definitely understandable to not get into roadie stuff.

I love shopping with someone whom I already have a relationship with, as well as having an easily accessible means of contacting them. I just wish I had more money to blow for more bike stuff!

And I have to ask, are those Leader bars really that nice? or is there value in durability with them?

Scrodzilla
08-22-11, 10:14 AM
The Leader risers? The finish is top-notch and they're made for tricking so they're durable as all hell. I like them better than my Nittos.

The oddly-shot pics we snagged from the Leader site really don't do them justice and I'm going to take some real pics of all three colors this sometime this week.

I think you may have missed my question up there, but will you be getting the Calv jacket in large anytime soon Scrod?

Scrodzilla
08-22-11, 10:33 AM
No more larges left. However, they run a little big so a medium may work - I'm a a pretty big dude and rock a medium myself.

We may restock at some point but we've been concentrating on our new fall/winter jacket (which kicks all kinds of ass).

Ah, I'll measure myself when I get home. I typically wear L shirts and they fit fine (pretty loose) so as long as I have some moving room in a medium, I'll pick it up.
Edit: I think you're right, a large shirt is 44" around so your M jacket will probably fit fine.

I'm also interested in this fall/winter jacket O_O Any info you can give us on those?

We've got an order in for some but I'm not sure when we'll be getting them. They come with a black chainring now and I think the back of the spider may be a little thinner but I have no confirmation of this as of yet.

i'm with jay... anything you can divulge about the fall/winter jacket? extra long sleeves with velcro/elastic closures? dropped rear to cover my coin slot? scuba neck? hood with built in virtual glasses so i can bike and enjoy time on the holideck at the same time? reflective accents? windproof/waterproof/recessionproof?

i'm having a hard time trying to justify $150 or more for a cold weather jacket from the other guys and figure if anyone can pull through, it will be the Retrogression guys. BTW, any idea when you might restock the Nitto bar plugs in black?

Scrodzilla
08-23-11, 05:39 PM
We got some black Nitto bar plugs today and I just put them back up.

The fall/winter coat is amazing. The outer shell is four-way-stretch polyester with a one-way water resistant lining (which keeps water out while remaining breathable) and a super soft microfleece inside. There are tons of zippered pockets - two huge chest pockets, two large inside pockets, two shoulder pockets (all having routing for earbud cables), a small pocket on the left forearm and large rear pockets which are mesh-lined and double as a vent when left open. It's also got pit zips and a full-size hood with a visor that rolls up and can be stored inside the collar. With the hood inside the collar and the jacket zipped all the way up (scuba-neck style), it keeps your neck really warm. Sleeves are double layered with reinforced elbows/forearms and the cuffs have velcro closures. It's cut longer in the back and has bungee drawstring closures on the waistband and hood.

They're most likely going to retail for around 90-95 bucks.
