i need a 53 according to cc's fit calc and leader's gemoetry chart.
Is there anything comprable to the 722? Thats not too much more?
You could always make up the 10mm in stem length :)

Scrod any idea when the 48t 144bcd silver velosolo rings will be back in stock?
Scrodzilla

As soon as VeloSolo makes more. Not really sure when that will be though.
any thoughts to free shipping if spent XX amount*? I haven't bought goodies in a while and my list is growing :D I think I'm going to break down and pick up those pliers here shortly. I can't believe the standard lock ring tool is the best thing out there besides them, seems so primitive and caveman like
*excluding frames obviously

I've thought about it a lot and as a small shop, there's really no way that would work without us breaking even - or in some cases even losing money - on sales. Should we keep our prices low to begin with or should we raise them and offer discounts and free shipping?
Muffin Man

about how much would the prices rise?
Scrodzilla

To make free shipping an option? More than anyone (myself included) would like.
In all honesty, would you walk into a small, independedntly-owned sandwich shop and ask why they don't have 2-for1 dollar menu deals because that's what the chain-operated fast food restaurant up the street does? I'm not trying to be a dick and definitely appreciate all the business you guys give us but I've got to be responsible when it comes to running a business.

You've explained this before. You already offer the lowest prices on nearly everything(I can't remember the last time I ordered something you carry from someone else online), and someone has to pay for shipping. It's obvious that you're not marking everything up through the roof, and I doubt you're getting rich from RG, so I wouldn't consider it fair for you to have to foot the bill for shipping. Shipping sucks; I hate when I add up the prices in my head, and it ends up being 10-20% more once shipping is factored in, but I'm still saving money over buying at my LBS or some other online retailer with a grossly inflated price. If USPS would just do a free shipping promotion, that'd be great.

Another thing that needs to be taken into consideration is that we don't have a huge warehouse full of stock and don't buy from our suppliers in big volume like City Grounds, Ben's Cycle, etc. A lot of times when online retailers run deep-discounted promotions and whatnot, it's because they bought 5000 of something, it didn't sell as well as anticipated and is now equivalent to boxes of money taking up space on warehouse shelves.

I think most people focus on the price while ignoring the added value you provide. I'm fully confident in anything I buy from retrogression because I know you stand behind what you sell. And you're also extremely accessible here on the forums and via your site. These things alone would make up for your products being priced higher that the competition. The fact that you price your stuff competitively if not better is a double win.
Having said that, the cost of shipping to Canada still sucks, lol. But our politicians deserve the blame for that I think.
heh I definitely feel the added value with scrod, he probably knows my apartment # by heart even though it's been a while. if it's even relatively close in price I go with scrod for sure. It just never hurts to ask :)
any idea when you'll have EAI 15t in stock?

I'm placing an EAI order on Monday. I'll throw some 15t on the list.

Can you also get some 17t, in 3./32"?
Thanx.
Oh, and will you ever have 42cm hood rats again?

Yes. Sometime next week.
Hey, have you heard of the Knog Blinders? Was wondering if retrogression were going to pick them up and give them a try or something!

I pretty much second this. The fact that you're able to come on here, ask questions and get a quick response is probably the main reason why I've ordered from Scrod's shop.
One of my Lizardskins bar plugs fell off when I was riding. I suspect it was because of my jacked up wrapping. Could it be because I didn't leave enough room at the end to keep it snug?
I'm also looking for a replacement, I know you have Nitto and Fyxation plugs on RG, are they about the same quality?
Scrodzilla
05-11-12, 04:05 PM
The outer part of the Fyxation plugs are shaped a little differently but aside from that, they're exactly the same.

I'm pretty sure EAI only stocks carbonadium replacement bones, which are comparable (but not NJS stamped). I'll check on Monday.

Yeah, they're steel and exactly the same as the unbranded ones we sell (aside from having a logo).

I don't know if it's okay to help here, but Bens Cycles has quite a few options. All are fairly expensive though.
Yeah that's exactly it. MKS laminated singles for like 60 bucks? Naaaah.
