Scrod - what say you about the Eighth Inch crankset that you currently have on sale? About on par with the stock cranks found on BD bikes, or a bit better?

I've never used it. It looks to be the same overall as the 130bcd Eighth Inch crank, which Angie has used and I've always thought is good for the price.
I used the 1/8" 130BCD crank and it's a lot nicer aesthetically and it was a hair rounder than the OEM crank that came on my BD bike. That said I eventually traded them for a WI freewheel when I switched to a set of Cooks RSR's I dug out my of the parts bin

scrod, just placed an order and left you a note about the dimension risers and chainring bolts we talked about
realized after i hit pay i probably shouldve had you send me the invoice first, not sure if this would create a problem
let me know if i screwed up
scrod, i am looking at the deluxe Andel and BB crankset http://www.retro-gression.com/product/andel-deluxe-track-crankset-w-bb
Can I assume this combo gives a 42mm chainline?
Thanks!

I've never actually measured but the bikes I've put them on have had straight chainlines.

scrod, thanks.
I realize the Deluxe set comes with a 48t chainring. I'm now looking at the 46t standard crankset with http://www.retro-gression.com/product/andel-track-crankset. I have a question about the silver color. Does it come with a grey chainring? I can't quite make it out on the site.
Scrodzilla

No, it's all silver. The entire crankset is available in grey though.

Thanks. I'll probably end up with silver. I wanted to combine orders with the V2/Twisted Pedals combo http://www.retro-gression.com/product/v2-straps-odyssey-twisted-pedals. When are you getting these back in stock?

Probably not for a few weeks. The batch we just made sold out much quicker than we had anticipated.

you are not the only one, the last animal Scrod sent me my cat got a hold of and stahed away so this time when I got the crab I safety wired it to my stem before I put the parts on my bike

Scrod, I might be having a change of heart on the TRP RRL levers black hoods with silver levers, think you would be able to track down a pair and give me an estimated price? That is of unless of course some Sram levers pop up.

Hey Scrod, could you get your hands on an Open Pro 28h rim? In need of one for a rebuild, I rather send my money your way.

Can't find silver RPLs!
TRP does make these 'retro' levers in silver though, which seem to have the same overall shape and look pretty cool:

Black.
Thanks!
Senor Scrod, I'm looking for a good punture resistant tire and was wondering what you could recommend from RG. My bike came with Maxxis Detonators and the smallest sticker is going thru and giving me flats. And this is with daily riding on a nice smooth bike path. Figured I'd save money with good tires versus buying tubes over n over. Oh, looking for something in a 700 x 25c. Thanks in advance.

There are a lot of good tires you can choose from. Pasela TG, T-Serv and Ribmo are all excellent tires that still have good rolling resistance and are pretty much bombproof - without weighing a ton.

They do look pretty cool, I just don't think I want to drop that much dough on a set of brake levers... assuming those are the TRP RRL SR yes? Also, I think I'm hell bent on black hoods, I can't get over the gum/grey combo... WHY AM I SO PICKY?

Are there any pedals you know of that WON'T work with DZRs? I seem to recall there being some issue with those SPD/platform hybrids.
Scrodzilla
09-10-12, 08:23 PM
I know Shimano A520, A530 and A600 won't work. I've been meaning to see if I can get a list of pedals that are compatible from DZR.

Scrod, does the eigthinch crank use a 68x107 or 68x110 bottom bracket? They make both of em but dont say specifically which one to use
Scrodzilla
09-11-12, 06:07 AM
The box says 107, EighthInch says 110 ISO. I have no idea which is correct at this point and once the one set we have left is gone, we won't be carrying them anymore.

Yo scrod, did my package go out? All the tracking service says is "electronic information recieved" as of 9/8.
I'm assuming it missed a scanner at the post office or something.

It went out the day you received the tracking info.
