I picked up an RB-2 for my girlfriend just now for $250 (talked down from $300). It's in really nice condition with a scratch here and there. My only complaint is the lack of attention to the paint job where the panels are. More than we wanted to spend, but hey, it's a bridgestone and it rides extremely well. Really nice geometry.

The plan is to deck it out with a mix of campy mirage/veloce + chorus rear derailleur. The problem is wheels... I have a set of 105 wheels with a 9 speed cassette, so I'm going to try and mix the 2 and see what happens. Hopefully it all works out and I won't have to get some campy wheels.

Pictures to come when it's light out!

Awesome pickup. The frame geo is the same as the RB-1 with only tubing difference but I understand the difference was almost nil.

Very helpful! Thanks! Any idea if Chorus 9 speed derailleur is pre-2001?

Here are the pictures. The frame is a 53cm (center to top as stated by the Bridgestone catalog. C-C is 51.5) The owners removed the red decals that lined between the panels. To my surprise, underneath was some poor paint finishing! Oh well, we are going to put some red vinyl to try to recreate it. Paint is in really nice condition except for a 2 inch scrap on one of the stays. Shimano 400ex components, DC Blaze brakeset. What's odd is that the front hub is Exage while the rear is RX100 laced to Wolber GTX. Did it come like this?

I'm trying to figure out a solution to use Campy 9 speed with this without spending any more money. The spacing sheet is really nice and gives me a few options. If Chorus-9 is post 2001, than I use the Shimano wheels with an 8 speed Shimano cassette. Stem will be changed out for a black one. Anyone have a short black quill stem? I may have to buy an Origin8 one.
