BTW, horchata is a cinnamon rice drink. Some use milk, some do not.

Anyone have a good recipe that you have made? My niece just started teaching in Columbia and says it's a delicious popular drink there. She said she tried making it once but was very difficult to strain. She used cheesecloth.

Down in AZ it was readily available in jugs at the supermarket. Around here you don't have to go far to find a taqueria with it. So I've never tried making it.

My recipe:
1. Go to nearest hole in the wall taqueria or Mexican food establishment.
2. Tell the staff you want some horchata.
3. Toss the staff a couple of bucks.
4. Receive glass of horchata.
5. Drink.

But then, this is Mexifornia. I'm not sure about the province of Wisconsin. Maybe you need a preliminary step of flying south first.

Thanks! I'll give one of those a try. My niece also mentioned another bevy, aveno (oatmeal), but hadn't tried it yet.
