I'll check the headbadge later but this is my current project. Bought it for a friend who wanted a road bike but then ran right into a modern Brifter bike for him at a low price so he's going that direction.

Paints in good condition, a few areas will need touch up/clear coating, but the bike will polish up sweetly.
Full rebuild as usual: tires, polish, bearings, cables, tape etc. Suntour Blaze components and 4130 frame.

I know it's not high on the Schwinn list but it is a good starter or commuter bike for sure.

What do you think a good list would be? :thumb: I'm thinking $280 to start.

Here's a pic as it came home.

ALSO: I'm tempted to just sell off the frameset. What would you estimate just the frame at? I can really use the components and wheelset to build a rainbike with a reynolds 531 frame I have.

I think you would be lucky to sell it in the low 200s.

I'd love to be proven wrong, as I have some similar bikes to let go.

BTW, it looks like the alternate color for 1989.

$280 for a True Temper mid grade Schwinn with a medium/large frame? Not a chance around here. Fortunately you are in So CA. Around here, $200 would be good. Frameset would get minimal response, as it is not very marketable. People paying serious $$ for framesets want some variety of Columbus or Reynolds 531.

Personally, I would not move Blaze components anyway to a 531 bike. While I really like Suntour stuff, Blaze is pretty so so.

The CL pic is because the bike is completely stripped right now. Would you prefer a catalog pic or a box of parts pic? ;)

I just got $200 for a carbolite 103 Peugeot so stranger things have happened.

Yeah, $280 may or may not fly depending on month.

I hear what you're saying about the Blaze components, not exactly a find for my other frame, but I do want to build it up asap. Probably wouldn't be worth selling just the Le Tour frame according to most frame sales on fleabay.

nomad, I am in the next county and it would not go for $280 here, not this time of year anyway. The last 2 or 3 months have seen very little prospects to flip and when I did find something it went for much less than last summer.
I don't think I could get more than $200 for it in primo condition but good luck over in the IE.

Today's cold will certainly drive people back into their homes again.
36 deg tomorrow for the ride in to work.

Inland Empire? I would say $150-$160 since the bike is low/mid-level, it's not Spring yet, and it's big. Frame by itself? SoCal seems to be on the fixie hook so you may get $40-$60 just for the frame. Peugeots have a Euro-flare with them so it might do better than just a Schwinn (and the Carbolite rides marvelously). If you're looking for parts, try searching for damaged frames that you can buy dirty cheap, use the parts, and slowly replace them when you get successively nicer parts.

I'll post it and see how she goes. May pick up new tires this weekend.
I've got an offer for $110 for the frame and fork alone. I'd rather try it fully built to make some more project $ than selling just the frame. I think $160 would be on the low side. I'll see if I want to sit on it till spring or break it down or SS it if it doesn't sell.

I have seen Le Tours here in SoCal go pretty much from 100 to 160 on CL in the last six months or so. Just not a lot of interest for some reason.
I have one in my garage in a small with all Suntour ARx with a Blackburn rear rack that i am planning on selling in the spring for about $145.00. Its a 1984 i believe. It has aero levers, rides great but is just to small for me.

Sold at 230
Not yet spring so I dropped the price.
The full rebuild is what sold it, glad I did it.
