Dan found a dead rat somewhere. I say he make jerky out of it. He says no. What do you all think he should do?

Tastes like squirrel

That's disgusting, you don't know where it's been or what it's been eating. You should get your own from a breeder and raise it from young.

In Jersey, a "dirty rat" is not the same thing as other places. Just sayin'

If he killed it, but not if he just found it dead. Sheesh.

** Oh, and make sure he cooks it at a high enough temperature to kill any nasty things that happen to be residing in said rat.

If you guys insist on hunting rats, make sure you use all the parts. With enough pelts, you can make a pair of gloves, or even an hat.

Since you asked, he should leave dead rats be. The hell's the matter with you?

No. They're too busy jerking their rat.

+1...just make sure to de-lice the pelts first

If you found it already dead, no way. That's a health hazard. If it's fresh, jerky away.

I don't like jerky at all. Let the cat play with it.

On the serious side. In an urban environment there is a reasonable chance a edad rat is dead because of poison.

Get rid of it.

Even with the poll saying to make rat jerky, couldn't since the container that I threw it into has been dumped since then.

Damn!!! Rats make for some very tasty treats! Back in the home-country, we had these field-mice/rats that get up to 10-lbs! Amazingly tender and juicy roasted on a spit over a campfire! :)
