Go to a shop that sells Jamis. I got a Dakar xt comp for like 1500. Hydro shimanos and full suspension.

Kona Coilair has lock-outs. Epic has a brain on the rear, but couldn't figure out for sure if the fork has a lock-out. Still not sure what the big deal is on lock-outs...if the suspension is properly tuned, you shouldn't need them. And for $1700 you better make sure your bike fits you in every aspect.
