Just dropped in from the 50+forum, i am 65 and ride road bikes. Have no intentions to ride a mountain bike however we have my wife's cousin and husband coming in from back east in June and he rides hybrid/mountain bikes. He's a rec rider so i know he would not be comfortable on any of my 8 or so bikes. Stopped at a yard sale yesterday
and spotted a mountain bike. It is a ParkPre Hammer with Deore LX Hubs/RD/FD,
Shimano cranks/chainwheels. Deore DX Shifters and SLR brakes. Rims are Araya. 20 inch frame with blue/green splash paint on white. Paint is very good and just a little rust hear and there. Payed $40.00 for it. Tires are good and looks like a tractor! Shifters are neat, the ride is very soft, two neon green bottle cages brighten it up. Seams like a well built bike but as i have no space may just get rid of it after my guest leaves. Do you think it's worth keeping? After clean up and adjustments could i get more than the $40.00? Thanks.
