That looks like a stock photo, not your own. You should post an image now for us, then about a year from now, post another. Although it's a great BC with tremendous power, the polished look of the original design casing quickly wears. Hopefully yours will last longer.

When mounted along with an Android phone running the OsmAnd voice nav GPS program, even Garmin guys will drool with gadget envy.

No way, man. Garmin 305 FOrerunner + cadence/speed sensor for far superior data management, AND you can use it for running AND you get robust GPS integration, AND it costs less.

Well, maybe you won't drool too much. But keep in mind the Sigma ROX 9.0 has barometric altimetry, not GPS elevation. It reads slope continuously with better accuracy and fewer errors than a GPS based system. You may not agree, but GPS computes position far better than elevation. In the aviation business, we seldom use GPS altitude, but always use baro.

Also, a droid phone with voice nav capability (using OsmAnd) is very addicting. You plot a route, plug in the headphones, turn on the music then mindlessly ride without thinking about how far you're riding.

If I become totally obsessive, I can compare GPS elevation gain with the GPX route I record with the phone to the Sigma barometric elevation gain after a long ride.

Although you can't run with the ROX 9.0, you can use a smart phone for running now with the available arm strap.

But how much data do we really need?

After you open a log or trip, click on the notes tab at the bottom and there you can click on the stars to give it a rating.

I dropped my 8.0 ALOT the sides were chipped up I was mad as hell but when I got the chance to talk to my buddy Brian..I asked him if Sigma makes cases (to protect like phone cases) for the higher end bc's and he said no, but I am going to follow up with him on that!!

I trust the post-ride GPS mapped software elevation correction more than a small computer's barometric altitude. The hardware altitude correction on the Garmin 305 is admittedly horrible, but once you download the data, you can just click 'correct elevation' in most programs (or not even click at all - often automatic) and it correlates with elevation maps. It's been extremely reproducible.
