...I'm not talking about whether your team won, or if you beat the spread or the line. Did you got to any SB parties and were you able to maintain your healthy eating program?

I, for one, had the party at my house and summarily did not maintain - I could not stay out of the BBQ tri-tip, brats and other snacks. Then again, I sort of saw that coming. While I'm not a sports fan, I do enjoy the festivities of SB (more so than X mas - as I don't have to buy presents), so I treat this more as a holiday than a sporting event. I did, however, manage to stay out of the booze (we had 3.5 cases of beer on hand) which is phenomenal for me (I cannot remember the last time I watched SB sober). Also, I was able to crank out a 30 mi ride this am to pre-undo some of the damage that I knew was going to happen.

Welp - tomorrow's another day...back on the plan.

How'd you all do?

I didn't watch the Superbowl but I did make a pizza. Delicious! Instead of full fat mozzarella I used part skim, skipped the salami and stayed with my favourite pizza veggies: onions, mushrooms & green pepper.

With luck, the Puppybowl will be available on the Internet tomorrow.

Well..not any more :) I tend to ask that same question, though, about Basketball season, as it appears to go on about 18 months out of the year.

Didn't do too bad. One Guinness Extra Stout and a couple of cheese enchiladas. Aside from that there was some leftover turkey from lunch today.

Hockey and Baseball are the same way it seems. Who was playing? I don't pay too much attention to any proffesional sports much anymore...

While I am a huge football fan, I didnt watch the game(as I loathe the steelers). I ate a small bowl of whole wheat pasta for dinner and had a fruit cup. Watched a movie with the wife, then did 1.5 miles on the elliptical.

I went for a short ride to the store to get a couple of things before kick-off, stopped at the local tavern for a beer on the way home. I ran into a Lions fan who was all behind the Packers because the Lions had beaten them during the the season...worst case of "shoulda, coulda, woulda" I have ever encountered.

Taking a day out of diet is no big deal. Be it Super Bowl, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter, or family reunion, eat up and enjoy the event.

Didn't watch any of the game, not a fan of the sport, the last time I actually watched part of a super bowl game,Pierre Trudeau was Prime Minister and Ronald Reagan was in the White House. Managed to skip every game since. I think I ended up eating a Roast Beef Sandwich at some point.

Yup, the behavioral therapist at the weight loss clinic I go to says the same thing, with this caveat - "Remember it's a holiDAY, not a holiweek..."

...yes, but what does she say about Hanukkah? [rimshot] Thank you...I'll be here all week.

Kidding aside, that saying is brilliant! Thanks for passing that along!

Cleaned a bike on the bike stand, got it set in the trainer. Made adjustments till it fit me, then did 30 minutes on the trainer. Stuck my MTB on the stand, had dinner with my wife (hamburger patty and beans and a salad). No beer, no chips, but did have a couple chunks of sharp cheddar... Couple neat commercials, half time show was fine until they made political comments. Why can't entertainers just entertain anymore?

I didn't do very well myself. I did manage to stay away from the kielbasa & kraut, but the other temptations were too hard to hurdle. I ended up eating a big Islay's chipped ham BBQ sandwich (it's a Pittsburgh thing), potato salad, and pasta (with meatsauce of course). I did good on the snacking end by staying close to the veggie tray, and away from the chip bowls. Only had a couple of light beers, and no soda.

Usually on Monday mornings we'll have turnovers for breakfast, but I got sick of those last night LOL!!

With a lot of planning, we did pretty good. We identified the foods we really enjoy at SB parties and then found healthy alternatives. We baked breaded chicken fingers (we made them from scratch, so the breading was very light), made veggie chili and had guacamole and hummus with carrots and celery. I did have a few tortilla chips from my daughter's bowl, but mostly I stuck to the healthy stuff. No alcohol at all, only Coke Zero.

Great SB, good game and decent commercials.

Chicken wings (baked with red hot sauce!) and cheese and crackers. That was it. Took it easy on the cheese and crackers. Ate lots of wings, but being baked they are a bit healthier.

I have been eating less anyway, and I think that has to do with I started eating a good breakfast again. Grape Nuts cereal is my favorite, and its not very sugary. Keeps me full for quite some time, too :) I am staying away from sugary cereals and if I want sugary breakfast I will make waffles with some syrup, which keeps me feeling full longer than sugary cereal.

I goy snowshoes and used them a bit to begin with but the winter blues got me :( though it doesnt help temps have been in the teens/low 20's and that cold makes it harder to breathe for me. I gotta get out again soon, Just kinda boring alone. Yet I don't have a problem cycling alone...haha

Can't wait till spring!

I definitely ate a bunch of stuff that I know isn't good for me. I actually am going to try and make a lifestyle change and cut out or minimize my intake of junk. I am trying to implement an exercise regimen as well!

I've neither hosted, nor attended, a super bowl party, so I've never had a problem with them. This year, my wife and I did have pizza for dinner in honor of the game, but more than half our plates were filled with a green salad, and the pizza was limited to two slender slices for each of us, with mushrooms, onion and cheese.

Did the climbing ride I posted a video of in this forum. I was hoping the traffic would be almost non-existent due to people watching the game, but it was business as usual around here. Knock on wood, the drivers up in the hills have all been courteous so far.

Came home, ate a normal meal, but did enjoy what I had left of a one liter bottle of Mountain Dew.

I had the SuperBowl at my house. Actually, it was 8.5 miles away. You can see the stadium from my roof. Of course, I wasn't willing to drop over 2 grand so my wife and I could go to the game. I stayed home and watched it on TV. I was worse at lunch than during the game. My parents invited us to my favorite mexican restaurant. I ate way too many chips. During the game, I had a hamburger patty and a piece of cheese-toast.

My worst problem is that I didn't take advantage of the time between lunch and the game to go ride my bike. I missed a whole week because of the ice, then didn't take advantage of a great riding day.

Ok I rode 30 miles before the game and had 2 beers with some Pizza my wife brought home. She thought i would be hungry after my ride. Well yea but a cliff bar would solve that.
So I pigged out on some salami, cheese, peperoni during the game along with pretzels, sweet tea.
Sorry Scottstr Next time heed the call
and Trekden, I B Steeler fan 2. With the Steelers you never know what team will show up to play. Turnovers for two Please

I signed up for the Houston Tour De Cure in September I am looking at doing a 100 miles a week until then or about 3,300 miles between trainer and riding. I can do

Not too bad. Did a short ride before the game at least. Ham and cheese sandwich for dinner (no party this year). Plus baked potato chips and a few cashews. Diet lemon aid, no beer this year.
I almost lost my dinner during the half time show (sorry if you're a fan, just not my kind of music). Don't get me started on singing the National Anthem.

James, at least the steelers could move the ball down the field. I thought Green Bay could run the ball?

As will the Colts. It'll be great to have them in the Super Bowl again, especially considering it will be played here in their home stadium.

It was also my anniversary (18 yrs). I had eggs benedict for brekkie and then pizza/cheesecake for dinner. I know, I was terrible. I did do 30 miles of riding on Saturday though in preparation.

I was actually disappointed this AM when I weighed in at 2lb+. Then I remembered my calorie fest the day before :)

Oh well, I'm only human...

I had a small group of family/friends over to watch the game. We played Wii Sports games at the same time. We had pizza (plain) and wings, but no booze. I drank 0 calorie soda & water all day. It wasn't a big deal with the high-calorie day because I didn't go overboard on the food and I ran a 10K in the morning before everyone came over.

I had ruffles and kraft onion dip, I didn't eat the whole bag or whole tub of dip (Yea) and some wings. On the good side, I rode the trainer for 1.5 hours. and burned about 500 cals.

I didn't go to any SB parties and didn't have any beer, but I did watch the police do the drunk driver test to someone they stopped in front of my house.

I did a 75mile ride. But I ate two hamburgers (no cheese, no mayo), some pizza and chips and dip.
