Morning commute, cruising along on a service road.... main road to my right. cruising along, i look down at my front tire. I hear someone yell, so i quickly look up, and a car passing in oposite direction on main road has a redneck hanging out of the car, just releasing a soda bottle at me. Unfortunately i flinched hard enouph that i lost control of the bike, and went over the handle bars. did't see him or the car well enouph to do any good. that is ok though... KARMA will take care of that rat bastard.

10 stiches in forehead, and a catscan... everything is ok, will just have a nice scar, and have a BIG TIME headache!

Wow, sounds like you are lucky to be alive mate. That redneck must have had a big chip on his shoulder.

You know, for all the stories and nightmares I hear, I have never been attacked or assaulted. Glad to hear you are ok. Hope that bastard gets it.

That's a real bummer, but I like your attitude! However, if you simply cannot wait on karma to get this guy, put up (and hand out) some posters. Somebody else must have seen this jerk.

Good luck with your recovery! :)

Someone threw a bottle at me on the 2000 Foxies Fall Century put on by the Davis Ca bike club.
It hit the road ahead of me, shattering and giving me a flat. A$$holes.

chains to the windows when i catch bastards like that. i had a water balloon hit me in the face a few summers ago, lucky for me i landed in grass when i fell. unlucky for them they got hung up at a stop light and lost a side mirror to my krypto.

I had a beer bottle thrown at me last summer. I ducked and the bottle shattered on my helmet. I was lucky, the car the bottle was thrown from crashed as the driver turned around to see what happened.

What a d*ck! Imagine endangering someone's life like that. You're lucky to be okay and with your eyes intact! Put vitamin E on the scar, it'll heal okay and in a year it'll be fine.

Makes me wish Charles Bronson rides bikes. I can see it now, Death Wish XXVII, Bicycle of Doom. Trying to work out how to make a top tube from a bazooka (you can't reload a law rocket).

Other then that, yeah people do tend to get back the cr@p they send out.

Food for thought: He probably travels that same route with frequency. Why not stake it out one morning in your car and see if youcan get his liscense plate?

good idea! stake it out, and throw out a spike strip! then jump his a$$ with your homies, tie him up, and throw bottles at him and his truck! keep reviving him with ammonia inhalants to extend the pain. pour lemon juice on his cuts. get the blowtorch and pliers. yeah.

Since we are throwing the torture ideas out, one could even get a metal cylinder with one open end, a rat and fire. Insert rat into tube, put open end up against his stomach and heat the other end. Go till he screams uncle and promises not to do it again.

I think this should be like the animal kingdom. Like a pack of wolves chasing down an Elk. Get a pack of riders and chase these half-sacked loosers down and do whats natural... clean up the gene pool.

I would stake it out, get his liscense number, and uh, give it to me. ;)

thanks for your thoughts guys, you made me lauph. I like this one the best, i would do one thing different though and stick the open half of the cylinder in his ass!

Still haven't figured out how i managed to get a cut like that over my eye... I was wearing my trek bike helmet! had to trash it, had a little tiny crack that ran through the middle of the forehead foam.

can't stake out... didn't get a good look at him at all... or the car for that matter. It looks allot better today, obviously swolen! I will be good as new in no time! told my coworkers everything from a shark attack, to a bar fight.

I am so sorry for you. This is terrible. Every time I think there is hope that this town is becoming less rednecky, somthing like this happens. I did my first road rides here to get to the doctor's office last week. I ride in the north and downtown area where more people use bikes for their main transport, so someone riding along on a street is less likely to be seen as something unusual. But this is terrible! If I had seen this happen, I would have run this guy into the ground to bring him to justice. Where did this happen and did you report it? I know you didn't get a description but maybe the patrol officers would be more aware and be able to keep an eye out for these things. We do have bicycle patrol officers and it sometimes makes the car patrol guys more sympathetic thinking it could have been one of their own in plain clothes.

to answer your questions:
I was on southside blvd service road. He was on southside main road heading in opposite direction.

I tried to report it, but didn't. as soon as it happened i called the police. they said they were sending someone out. then i called my father to come get me and bring me to the hospital. a half hour later my dad shows up, and still no cop. I called 911 again, and they said an officer would be there any minute. about another 40 minutes later, my head realy realy started to hurt, so i said the hell with it and we left for the hospital. I hated that i had to leave without reporting it, but i just couldn't stand on the side of the road any longer...
