Mountain Biking - I OWN 4 AM FULL SUSPENSION BIKES 2 of which C-DALE MADE IN USA

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
another 2 GT i can;t say they are made in USA but i can't find the made in Taiwan logo anywhere. Could have fallen off. But one of them carbon, Definitely won't be taiwan
I ride these bikes anywhere. That is what i call FREERIDING.
I am PROUD of my bikes and my riding style. I am not against 29er, rigid, single speed.
I will never touch a road bike, a commuter bike.
I prolly won't buy a DH bike. If i had the chance i'd just join Commencal or something and race DH, then they'd pay the bike.
Looking at most of the posts in the thread how many bikes you own...i totally lol.
how many road bikes have to be made so that you roadies are satisfied with ripping some highway or commuter path? Where is your darn Prius?
Why not commute with MTB?

Cool. what kind of tires do you have on your "commuter mtb"? I have always wanted a FS with slicks...sort of like a softail roadie...could you imagine?
Good for you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
race king 2.2.............faster than roadie on roads, faster than dh riders on trail, no question asked
I know road tires or slicks are fast. But they are such a wimp for MTBkers who obviously can't help but ride some street MTB around. And you know how that is, at least need some fat tire and a front fork to do street riding.
I have used kwik trax from kenda on my mtb. For the money's sake, i'd say i may throw them on sometime, but the race king do just fine, they are deadly fast anywhere. If you are not afraid of falling, take it to an skate park, it still goes fast, don't turn...
see what i mean? I don't care about the whole tire technology and theorem. I found this tire to be powerful allrounder, my local bike shops all recommend this and stock this. So what else do i have to say?
^ Riiiiiiight.

Now I have in the past have made errors in posts, and got reamed for over-pluralizing forks, but I'm struggling with this statement what does it mean?

No need for explaination.
see for yourself
watch ANY mountain bike Movies
I am not going to start with this, but seriously, the mountain bike scene has recently been dominated by Freeriders. And if you tell a freerider to not slide, he will tell you to go f yourself.
Unleash the Cracken...game-on.

roadies? You do realize this is the mountain bike forum right? Probably won't hurt too many roadies' feelings in here... and btw many roadies also mountain bike and don't drive Prius but that all goes without saying...

I don't think my AM bike would fare too well in the tri-aths I compete in...
You ride alone alot, dontcha lyrill?
Lyrill is probably that guy always going to the local shop to corner employees with bizarre opinions and BS stories. You can spot his bike a mile away. It's the 1998 Cannondale Super V with gel seat, bar-ends, and random crap upgraded to modern components. He charges down the bike path scaring joggers on his way to epic solo freeride sessions, such as riding down the stairs of a local shopping center.
Yes, the more I think about it, Lyrill is "that guy."

I just about peed myself, I totally know one of "those guys" brags about using the lift and bombing down the runs brah!! Except the guy I know rides a Mongoose xr something or another with an XT drivetrain, it looks pretty stupid.
Hey man...I rode with a guy for a while that had a Wal'goose that the wheels fell apart. He upgraded to XTR Rhynolite's. He got a really good deal on them and needed wheels. I don't hold it against him.
^^ We all know people like that, don't we? :innocent:

To each his own I guess, but I think its kind of sad, cycling in general had so much to offer. I love it all. MTB is great, but I also like a good road ride thru the hill country, a afternoon tandem ride with my wife, a hike and bike trail with the kids and if I had a job that required me to go to a office and it was close by I am sure I would give commuting a try.

Lyrill agrees with you john, he just thinks that you should do all of those things on all-mountain bikes.
