O.K.

Who's got some experience here? I'm interested in attending the Rally in Wisconsin. My bride travels with me, of course. She is slightly mobility challanged. My question is....what do the non-cycling, non-driving spouses do during ride time? Are there organized shopping or sightseeing trips for them to enjoy or should I just advise her to bring a good book?

You might shoot an email to the Hostel Shoppe. I'll bet they would respond with useful info.

I can't help you at all because I haven't been there before. I am tinkering with the idea of going this year. Downsides for me are it's about a 500 mile drive each way and I'll have to get up early on August 8 to drive the school bus. If I knew for sure that you were going, I'd consider that an upside factor.

The town has a web site. Why don't you send them a note and see how they respond? I would especially let them know you're coming to town because of The Hostel Shoppe.

Stevens Point is not a large town. Your bride's activities might be limited to antiquing and touring the train station (if there is one...)

I remember there being an ice cream social and a picnic where she could mix and mingle with the riders and their spouses. You can also spend a lot of time wandering around the area where they demo recumbents. Maybe you could get her on one of the recumbent tandem trikes the manufacturers provide for demonstrations.

I attended in 2008. If at all possible I recommend going.
