out of interest, does anyone know if olympic weight lifting exercises (in particular cleans) would be beneficial towards cycling?
also, are there any suggestions for particularly good olympic lifts to assist cycling? (except squats and deads)

Olympic power movements will not specifically help in any activity besides lifting ..That being said I also work out and anything that makes you stronger is a good thing....Cycling more = A BETTER CYCLIST

the clean would be good for the core and all power is enhanced through the core

Almost any olympic exercise will strengthen your core - making riding distances more comfortable, reducing back pain. A lot of cyclists say "weight lifting is pointless!" but I think they are just weenies.
