Just passed 2K this year on my bike. This is my first year having a road bike, so I thought this was a pretty good accomplishment. Got lots of good information from this forum, so thanks to all that contribute....

Congratulations and hope you had fun along the way. Don't get hung up on the numbers though. Next year set a goal of 10-15% more but don't go too nuts too fast!

Good on ya. For me the numbers is an obsession, but it doesn't preclude me from enjoying every ride.

i hear what you're saying, but it's a mistake to go cheap on your bike IF you can afford to spend enough for a decent ride -and- you will use the bike for years to come.

Way to go! :D I started in July this year and have just over 550. But enjoyed every mile. A girl in my bike club hit 4K for the year a couple weeks ago on our Sunday ride. But she's been doing it for years and did a few of those week long rides. She asked me on that ride if I had set any goals for the year, and I told her not to give up and just ride. But I think 2K is fantastic, theres a goal for next year. That and at least 3 centuries.
