My wife and I stayed home and continued recovering from the flu. At least I hope that's what we're doing.

Went to a local place for dinner, I had fish and chips and a bowl of French onion soup, she had ribs....
Service was so slow, I thought maybe the waitress was cooking too....

It's the Red Lobster. Funny that we have avoided the joint for quite some time now. Been so disappointed with the food in the past. Just for something different on Vday, we hit up the place and it was actually pretty good. Maybe they made a conscious erfort to make everything good that day for the lovers.:D...maybe new management?:p
"These photos really are making me hungry"................."These pretzels are making me thirsty"...:roflmao2:
BTW, if we had planne dit. we would have raehr gone to Northwood Inn in West Covina. Wow, lobster is good and the baked potato is huge packed with cheesebutter. Cheese toast is geat and the salads are yummy. Of course pop in on a V-day wouldn' be good idea, I bet it was packed and the lobster plate is about $40 per plate. We go there on our anniversary since it was where I took Gina on our first date 24 years ago.:D

I'm not a fish eater, shrimp and lobster ok. But I sure do miss the H Salt Fish & Chips of long ago. There is only one around that we know of. But if you walk into the place, be ready to go skiing over 6 layers of grease on the floor. yucko!:(

My fiancee broke up with me about a month ago so I've been trading despair and heartache hormones for lactic acid and dropped another 12 lb this month.
Down the line, I gotta believe this will help me trade up. 116 lb and counting, about 28 more to go to hit target weight. I'll still be a horse but more of a hunbter/jumper than a Clyde.

If the floor at the front of house is covered in grease, I would hate to see what the kitchen is like...
Sorry to hear that Captain! But on the plus side, seems like the weight loss is coming along very nicely! :)
Me and the missus went to a really nice Japanese restaurant here called Hachi. The place has no menu, you sit down and they start serving you. It has about 10 courses in all, every one of them very enjoyable. Also, when we were done it was close to closing time, and the chef came over and sat down with us a little and treated us to a few free beers.

Sounds cool!:thumb:.....Sorry to hear Capt but like you say, trade up. Heck, I had a horrible relationship of 4 years, horrible breakup and aftermath. 3 years later, Gina walked into the room! Been like heaven ever since!
I look back and that horrible 4 year seems like one day!:thumb:

My wife and I exchanged cards. She asked for a computer upgrade, and told me to upgrade my video card as my present. She's practical that way.
OK, maybe not 'practical', since the upgrades are so our video graphics can look better when we play online video games together.

I'd given up on RL a while ago because of slipping quality. Haven't been to the Covina one in a while but we hit the Clearman's in La Mirada occasionally as our older son is in college there.
The two weekends before V-Day were spent out of town. First a wedding weekend in San Francisco for my nephew. Then high school winter camp in Big Bear last weekend (with no snow, or winter weather for that matter). So we were pretty much ready for a nice evening at home.
Got home from work and younger son had put together a cheese and cracker plate to get the evening started. My wonderfull wife made up some fetuchini alfredo with chicken, salad, and chocolate cupcakes accompanied by a nice bottle of wine. Nice relaxing evening. And my wife loved the MTB gloves and cycling glasses I got her so all was good.

Yeah! We live near the RL in Montclair. Over the past 5+years, quality has slipped, service has sucked and an overall feeling of disgust while walking out of the joint. There was an RL in Covina that we didn't mind the trip just for the better service etc. but it closed down.:( now there is a place (can't think of name) but it is Brazilian. Heard it's real good, you hold up a little colored marker then they bring more meat, various kinds. I have yet to make it there. Everytime we're trying to think of something a little different, it slips my mind.:D
Ah ha! this is the place!

Restaurants are like anything else, the bean counters have taken over, if a good restaurant manager knows a good waiter can handle 8 tables and makes $6/hr for 8 hours and double that in tips, yeah you can live nicely on $720 a week. The bean counters come along and say, each waiter will handle 10 tables, and it's really not busy except from 5PM until 8PM, so we will reduce the hours. Of course service suffers and the tips fall by half, so the guy ends up making $12/hr for 3 hours a day, so the good waiters, say I can't live on $180 a week, heck rent is more then $180 a week, so the good waiters leave, other good waiters don't want the lousy money either, so they get a revolving door of high-school kids who are doing it for pocket money, and they don't care, if they get fired, they will go to another crappy job, and the customers end up going somewhere else, because the service is so poor. The bean counters get big bonuses because they saved so many $ in wages....

I left the house at 5am, went to work and got back home around 830pm. That about sums it up.:notamused:
My birthday was the day before and we went to a hibachi grill without the kids. So, that kind of counted. Before I left for work I put a box of chocolates on their desks, we homeschool, and wrote a message on the white board for them, so it was a nice suprize for them when they got up.:thumb:

We went out for supper and ate way too much. Afterward she sprung a surprise on me. Turns out my Mrs. is really interested in pampering my posterior and gifted me a Brooks B-17.
My wife is awesome

I have the best wife there is. Took her out for Crab and Pitchers of beer at her request. I defy you to complain about that!
!
V-Day
Get up went to work - stayed at work until 5:00. Went home to check on sick wife and give her card and chocolates. Took daughter to violin class. Came back home and realized wife was really much sicker than she had let on so I got my daughter get her shower before heading back to work. Worked from 8 -12:30 and headed home. Its grant season so lots of late hours writing for money. Something I'll do again tonight but this time at home instead of at the office.

She's sexier and smarter just by doing that. Make sure she knows.
