I purchased a vintage Colnago frame from an unknown person in an unknown land...after a few weeks, it finally arrived. The seller did not have much info however speculated that it's late 70s / early 80s. It's in good shape, appears to be straight and clean. The only question I have is what year is it? It is a Colnago Super, light purple (or pinkish) solid paint. Yellow decals with black outlines, cable guides on the top tube, chrome Columbus fork, clover cutout on the bottom bracket, campy drops, etc. Other than that, I don't know much. I did notice a number stamped on the right rear drop "722". Any way to place the year? Any sites that can help ID?

I appreciate any help. Thanks!

Rick

OK, So I'm replying to my own post, but after further research, I did find something on Sheldon Brown's site that helped narrow down the date. Probably late 70's, early 80's, (OK fine, so maybe it didn't narrow the date too much, but it does help support the hypothesis. Thanks for the input, please add if you have any thoughts.
