I am interested to find out what types of locks people use to lock up their bike.
Thanks for your vote :)

Actually, I seldom use a lock as I bring my bike inside & park it by my cubicle at work & at home the older bikes hang in my garage while the 4 top quality bikes hang inside the boiler/mechanical room behind a deadbolted steel door. If I make a run to the supermarket or a restaurant, I usually park the bike inside near the entrance. Anywhere that isn't possible, I use a cable lock thru both wheels & frame. Bike theft isn't much of a problem in Olympia unless you were to leave the bike out in a public area without any lock or poorly secured. There was an incident recently downtown where 2 bikes were regularly left overnight cabled together to a bike stand on the sidewalk & someone cut the cable & stole them.

Specialized 05 Rapper slim lock (cable). I don't use it anymore since the bike goes inside at work and at home. If It stayed outside, I'd probably add a U-lock or a 05 Rapper (thicker cable).

2 chains, 2 different padlocks.
2 u- locks (non-tubular) and a hardened chain with pad lock.
You really should have more choices on your poll.

I'm only want to find out about the main 3 main types of locks, thats why i put 'other' aswell. I agree i should of allowed multiple choices but i cant think of any other lock type.
I have a cable, but when at work the bike shares my cube with me. :)
U-lock. Plus I have the small frame-installed rear wheel lock that comes as standard equipment in most bikes here.

I use a u lock and a cable lock. I bring my bike inside at work. I keep it locked to a post in the utility room, which has a locked, heavy steel door. I work in a detention centre for young offenders. I sure wouldn't want one of our "guests" making the great escape on my bike. :)

I don't leave my bike anywhere where I would need to lock it up. I have space inside the office (right in front of my desk) where I store it.
I use a chain lock at work - its a pretty secure area and I leave the chain on the rack.
Cable lock when stopping anywhere else - like the gym to take a shower.
The bike is not locked at home. It sits on the front porch with the kids' bikes for anyone to take. We've been keeping them there for several years without locks.
Krypto cable (not the gorgon)
I never planned to leave the bike out here in public for long, so this small light lock does the trick for those momentary jaunts into the shop, cafe, bar, etc.
In truth, the bike is rarely left out of eyesight and is usually a fist's reach away should problems arise.

If I'm parked at the grocery store, I use my Citadel U-lock, plus the bike's built-in ring lock.

I still have one of the Kryptonite U locks. I need my lock everyday to look up my bike on campus so I don't have the time to send it in to Kryptonite for the recall trade in :(
2 cables, 1 U-lock, 1 padlock
You need a "more than one" option on your poll.

Yer i guess, but i really had no idea that people would use more then 1 ways of locking up a bike. Where i live there is no need to, but i now realise what extent people go to, to lock up their bike. Its an unsafe world out there.
I use a cable lock BTW, i had a chain lock but the combination part stuffed up, so that had to be cut :(. personly i dont trust chain locks that much.

I use a U-lock around the frame and pinned down object with a cable lock around the front wheel (rear wheel is not quick-release). I use a cable lock and contractor grade pad-lock on my cycletote trailer (thinking about getting a NY Chain for trailer since my work shoes and bike pump where stolen of my welcome mat). I live in the student getto in Boulder Co so there is a LOT of theft here. My wife, son and I live in a single bedroom apt so we have to keep all the bikes and trailer locked outside.

I use a cable lock, but I usually remove the front wheel, and maybe the skewer.

NY Chain with a Fahgedaboudit disc lock. If in NYC I have a backup "bodega" shackle lock as well... both flat key not cyclinder.
