I found these on ebay and threw in a low bid and won. They are Novara (REI) panniers and in like new condition and fit perfectly. I could not be more happy with these.:D
Should I take the rack bag off and add a under seat bag for my tools and tubes or leave as is?

Eh, your choice on the bags...trunk is bigger.
Hey, that RD looks familiar!!! :)

The trunk is not as big as it looks, but the panniers are pretty darn big and roomy. It's just a pain to remove/replace the panniers with the trunk mounted, and the trunk is mounted with Velcro straps which is a pain in itself.
I was thinking a nice under seat bag for tools, and tubes, and a cargo net to strap a jacket or whatever to the top of the rack.

The panniers really look good on that bike, CC.
If your intent is to dress it up like a full tourer, I'd just stick with the trunk.

That would be my choice. I don't like the trunk on top of the pannier look and i agree it could be a pain function wise.

Well, right now it's set up like it is in the second photo, and I'll keep it this way for now as wrestling to remove the trunk is a real pain. Now if I could find a Cannondale style handle bar bag I'd be set. I've put a lot of time into this bike, and want to get it just right.
I have really fallen for the touring geometry, and enjoy ridding it more than my race geometry bikes.
