Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Well, I broke the 100lb mark

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I was 340 lbs June 2010. As of today, I'm 238. I was a size 54, now I'm fitting into a 40. My goal is about 180 - so I still have a way to go.
Started with a Fuji Crosstown 4.0 comfort bike. I've literally rode the drive train off of it. It is in the shop being overhauled now. I rode the tires bald. I put over 2000 miles on it.
I broke down and got me a Surly Cross Check last Thursday. I've already put 110 miles on the bike. Never thought I'd spend a grand on a bike. Boy is it a beautiful thing though.
Thought I'd stop back by and say hi and encourage others to point their bike down the highway and go :)

I'm reading a great book that deals with the obesity problem in the US.....The End of Overeating...the problem is partly our genetic history, and how the food industry and resturants exploit it....and partly our poor choices
