We don't have the TDF but we do have Rouge Roubaix. Scroll down and watch through the 1:17 mark to get a sense for our mountains and smooth roads. Winning times are under 5 hours for the 100 mile race.

Pretty cool, and looks tough as heck. Starting to see a lot more of these Ultra Cross / Endurance races popping up nationwide. A popular one around here is called The Hillybilly Roubaix. Starts in WV, and crosses the PA border. It's 72 miles, but it takes some well over 6 hours to complete. Not my cup of tea, but I would love to check it out this year as a spectator or maybe a volunteer.

Do you have a link to the Hillibilly Roubaix? That is the kindo fevent that interests me. I;m looking at the Cheat Mtn Century as my target ride this year.

Creative way to get your hills in.
Some of those looked very steep.

I used to go hunting around Woodville, MS. That can be some rough terrain. The gravel in those creek bottoms can be loose packed and I bet would swallow a bike tire. I bet the roads are nice though.
