Northern California - Woody Y Century & Family Fun Ride

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
Registration is now open for the Woody Y Century & Family Fun Ride April 9, 2011.
Start the cycling season by participating in this fun, well-organized ride to benefit the Asthma and COPD Education Center (ACEC).
The ride has a route for all levels of rider from novice to expert and families are encouraged to participate. Included are fully supported aid stations, experienced SAG support, and a wonderful lunch from Big Dan the BBQ Man. A fun festival will complete the event and will include music, food, a raffle, massage and activates for the kids. A new Double Metric Century has been added for those who are looking for more of a challenge. This ride is in the Bakersfield area.

I'm not judging Bakersfield, but it's not Northern California. I think Dante should've noted that the ride is not local, that's all. In fact I'll state that all ride announcements posted anywhere should say where the ride is.
I hope the benefit ride is a big success.

No worries, I was just having fun paraphrasing a Buck Owens song:
Streets of Bakersfield

NorCal.......SoCal.........????..... for me, a fair amount of the San Joaquin Valley, the Central Coast, the Southern Sierra Nevada's, Mammoth, Yosemite, Sequoia, etc are neither... or at least I didn't claim them when I lived in either Long Beach or Daly City........ but at the same time, I love these area's as they have some of the best cycling the state has to offer and are easily accessible by all of us from either direction which is so cool.
FWIW we had a chance to ride the Woody Y Century last year and it was a great ride with some nice flats around Bakersfield, Oildale, Delano, Famoso along with good rollers, nice climbs and descents particularly out and around Woody. Just a solid all a around spring ride with something for everyone. I'm sure we'll support it again this year.
