At the park today my son picked up this nut. He asked which type of nut it was and I said I don't know. Then he suggested I take a picture of it, post it on the internet and ask my friends to look at his nut (bear with me, he's only ten), to see if somebody knew.

So here's my son's mystery nut:

And my girl who thinks every time I turn the camera on is to take a photo of her...

Can anybody identify my son's mystery nut? By the way, this nut was found in Central Florida, so it's a Floridian nut.

Looks like a dark shelled walnut ... if there is such a thing.
