Not MP... but the actual word "mango".

Mango is a fruit, you know that. But in Spanish, mango also means "handle", "caught" & "busted".

El cafe esta caliente, agarra la taza por el mango.
The coffee is hot, take the cup by the handle.

Hice trampa en el examen y el maestro me mango.
I cheated on the exam and the teacher caught me.

Manga'o! = Busted!

Ergo, full sentences can be constructed using the word "mango" several times.

Daddio, that is gone, mangone. Crazy!

Huh. Nice to know. Wonder how it became the word for the tropical fruit?

Kinda like the "f" word. . .

I'll bet it's because they fit so well in our primate hands.
Caught & busted are also slightly synonymous with "grabbed."

[Goes to check OED...]

... and there's another slang: "mango bajito" which I'll leave for you to figure out, as I'm very sleepy and I'm going to bed.

what does jsharr mean in spanish?

calamarichris

Huh...
Mango is an obsolete term for a slave dealer.
Also a name given in Irish linen districts to a bleaching powder & bleaching liquor.

From Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mango):
The English word "mango" probably originated from Malayalam (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Malayalam) word "manga" via Portuguese (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portuguese_language) (also manga). The word's first recorded attestation in a European language was a text by Ludovico di Varthema (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ludovico_di_Varthema) in Italian in 1510, as manga; the first recorded occurrences in languages such as French and post-classical Latin appear to be translations from this Italian text. The origin of the "-o" ending in English is unclear.[ (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mango#cite_note-OED-1)

Manga is Portuguese for "sleeve". And the Italian word for "eat" is "mangi".

what does jsharr mean in spanish?

I don't know for sure, but Spanish has many dialects. It could mean "can you apply the suntan lotion" to "It rubs the lotion on it's skin" to "I rubbed it and this lotion came out"

Heh heh... Lotion (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ToNZHG5KHw). http://forums.youthrights.org/images/smilies/rockon.gif

Do you kiss your mother with that mouth?

RubenX

Down that route....

Minga = a fake head with fake hair used by students to practice haircuts.
Manga = something I learned about in 4chan.
Mongo = Soft (used for males)
Monga = Soft (used for females)
Mongo (slang) = something with no power/intensity...
Chiste mongo = A joke that's not funny (aka, doesn't have the intended power/intensity)
Mangu = A Dominican dish

PS: jsharr does not translate and can't even be pronounced as written... Ergo, jsharr would be quickly renamed "the gringo" upon arrival to a Spanish speaking country.

.... I should be sleeping...

LOL... OK, since I can't sleep, I'll tell you.

"Mango Bajito" literally means an actual Mango Fruit that's not to high up the tree and can be picked up easy. When somebody takes you for a "mango bajito" it means they took you for a fool, took advantage of your good nature.

and just as a curiosity... the house I grew in had a big mango tree in the front yard. There was a swing that all my brothers/sisters used, hanging from that tree. Lo and behold, baby Rube' is born, gets on the swing, falls down, cracked his head, is taken to ER and get some stitches. Next day, DadX chopped down the tree. Brothers & sisters still blame me for it and I have not been forgiven (the next available swing was 2 blocks away @ the park).

I think google translate is expecting Tagalog style Filipino.

A lot of Filipinos speak Spanish, but....

RubenX

It's a Puertorican Spanish slang. Don't know if it's shared with any other countries. Words change a lot between countries. "Take" and "bus" for example... in PR you can "take the bus" (cojer la guagua). But in Mexico, guagua means child and cojer is *unmentionable* so, you gotta make some Puertorican->Mexican translation before asking locals for the bus stop locations.

What did you think I was referring to?
