I'll just start with a dream I had last night.
It all started with me locking up my bike to visit my friend.
It was the same locking system that I use every day. U lock around wheel and seat tube and a weak lock around the front wheel and down tube. When I came out to go somewhere else in a hurry, there were my brake cables and housing missing, but now there is an electric communication cabling in it's place colored orange. There were no brakes so I couldn't ride it. That got me pissed off because I thought someone was messing with me.
I didn't wanna bother to unlock it and take it home for some reason, so I just went home and called it a day. Next morning I came to it and all the components were gone. There was just a frame locked to the some post and only the seat post and saddle were there. That was the point when I said, screw it, I'll just get a new bike.
Next time I went by that location walking (still no new bike), everything was gone and I looked around. There were 3 about 15 year old kids looking at me strange and I approached them to ask if they saw anything. They didn't see anything but something was bugging me about those kids because they had handlebar stem in one of those kids hands that looked a lot like the one I used to have on my bike.
I didn't wanna make a fuss about it and I decided to keep an eye on them because I thought that the whole bike should be somewhere around, so I went looking for it. It seemed like I walked around the whole night and finally there it was. My bike all apart with all the components around it and only wheels on the frame.
Those kids were around when they saw me carrying the bike and they seemed disappointed for some reason. I came up to them and confronted them about it. They fessed up, but I didn't feel any anger towards them and I asked them how they managed to take the bike.
This is what they said,
"we just wanted to sell it and started taking all the components from it hoping to free it up from the lock. We started with the brake cables and put some other cables there hoping you wouldn't notice till we found some tools to get the other components from it. We did and we took most stuff from it including cutting the weak lock, but the next day we realized that we only had to lift the bike from the post it was locked to and so we did. It was only a straight post about 4 feet long. We only had to lift the bike and that would be it. Now our costumer doesn't want the bike till we put it back together and we don't know how. Could you please put it back together and give us the bike so we can sell it?
I went "No this is my freakin' bike dudes." They just said, "Oh OK I see your point."
I went about my day and that was the dream.
When I woke up I laughed really hard when I recalled all the events. The whole thing was just strange and mindless filled with people who don't know how to lock a bike and steal it properly. Very entertaining for me because it was so vivid and real.
I don't know what to make of all this.
