Just finished a root beer float. Haven't had one of those in at least a decade. It was delicious!!!

What's your favourite ice cream dessert / treat?

Good call on the rootbeer float. I've been digging Tillamook Udderly Chocolate lately. And of course Phish food.

All ice cream.

Oh root beer float, I haven't had one in years. Dr Pepper floats are even tastier. Nuts, I'm hungry for ice cream.

B & J Double Fudge Brownie.
Arby's Jamocha shakes.
Mint chocolate chip.
Chocolate cream pie, or Mousse pie. Frozen or thawed.

But I'll eat a lot of different flavors, those are just the top of my list.

Fried ice cream is awesome.

I make this little dish where you take a few handfuls of sliced almonds and caramelize them in butter and sugar and finish it off with an ounce of Grande Marnier which does burst into flames so a cover or a high ceiling is needed.

This goes straight on to super frozen ice cream and forms a crispy sweet nutty shell with a hint of orange.

I'm going to have to try making that some day. Last time I had fried ice cream was in the 90's at a Red Lobster. Don't think they have it on the dessert menu anymore.

this is a trick question for me, as there is no correct answer. Ice cream selection is locational or situational for me. My default at one parlor will not be the same at the next, if you follow me. I like a cherry soda from Braums. If there is an A&W stand, then a root beer float is in order. At Dairy Queen, then I opt for the Heath bar Blizzard, etc.

If I had to pick one, it would be a caramel sundae with whipped cream, nuts and a cherry or four on top.

... they still have a real A&W in DFW?! At least we still have a DQ.

Many of the A&W's are the multi format type places now KFC/A&W in one location. You might be surprised. Go to their website and enter your zip code.

Not the same as pulling up to the old root beer barrel shaped building of my youth, but you can still get an A&W float with your boys and sit back and tell them how good they used to be, back in the good ol days........

Until about 5 years ago, there was a real standalone A&W less than three miles from where we ended up buying a house. Back when I was at Sun, we downed many floats and consumed many bacon cheeseburgers in that place.

Heard that In N Out Burger is moving into the Dallas area in a big way. I have had their burgers. Do they have ice cream?

Tough to pick one. Some favorites are:

Making nana shakes at home in the blender : vanilla ice cream, nana, milk and ice
Mochi Mochi
Lemon Gelato
Peanut Buster Parfait™

I must've gotten duds, because I've had milkshakes from In-n-Out and have wound up pretty disappointed each time.

Strawberries + banana + blueberries + raspberries + crushed ice + sprinkling of cinnamon + teaspon of sugar.

Crush. Instant Awesome Smoothie!!!

And the cinnamon is to mainly help your body balance out the sugar from the fruit and the added sugar. :p

Well Ummm. add ice cream? I'm not sure how that will taste however. It shouldn't cause the universe to divide by zero.

I have this thread to blame for this evening's mochi mochi purchase. I had to settle for boxed stuff, but still good.

Store bought as a favorite? A poor second.

My favorite would eb somethgin I call "The Baja". Rocky Road made with homemade mexican chocolate (modified fromthe original recipe to be even richer and less healthy) and then mixed with my choice of nuts, marshmellows and coconut. Always including macadamia nuts and usually 2-3 other high end nuts.

++1. In My Not At All Humble Opinion, it's better with bottled Guinness, than canned.

I used to have a love for Mint Chocolate Chip until one time when a mate and I stopped at a kiosk on a warm summer's evening. As it turned out, we knew the serving wench and as she had the hots for my friend, she gave us two eeeeeeNORMous servings. They were bigger than my head. We each ate maybe 2/3 of them before dropping the remains in the nearest bin. And I've never felt the urge to touch the stuff since.

Worst of all though, it completely ruined the night's drinking that we had planned.
