Hi Gang.

Thought that I would get around to joining the forum.

My name is Brian, I live on the best place on earth (Vancouver Island) as long as you like the rain LOL.

I'm in my 50's. I found out that I love riding my bike several years ago when I had the diabetes scare and had to lose a bunch of weight.
I started going to the gym every day and after a while instead of driving, I started to ride my sons bike and found that I really liked it, much easier on the body then running etc. I managed to loose over 50 pounds and was in the best shape i have been in years.

Unfortunately my knee started giving me grief and riding has not been that easy for the last several years and I have put some of the old beef back on.

Last year I got a custom made knee brace that has allowed me to start doing the things I love again, skiing, biking that sort of thing, so I'm just starting to get back into it again.

Unfortunately, the cost of living in paradise is the rain and cold weather. I have been having motivational issues about getting back on the saddle again and all my riding buddies have moved away.

BUT, this is the year. I ride for the pleasure of riding. I have a Trek 520 touring bike and I want to try some touring on it, probably just stay on the island for now.
But you never know.

I'm looking forward to meeting some new friends

Brian
