Classic and Vintage Bicycles: What's it Worth? Appraisals and Inquiries - Why is there no complete guide for Schwinn Paramount Serial Numbers???

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I dont understand why there isnt a complete serial number guide somewhere on the net for all the Paramounts. Even on Wateford, they dont have a complete one.
Every serial number site seems to end before the 90s even begin, which was well over 20 years ago, ignoring many really cool paramounts.
I have a POG OS thats painted white and "dipped" in red and blue.
The serial number is 2A01857. From what Ive been able to detect that means it was built in January of 91?? I bought it from a high end bike shop who was selling a triathlete's collection of bikes on consignment in 1994 in Santa Rosa CA. I also did tris on it myself and then used it a lot in and around Seattle.
The frame paint job is Exactly like a mountain bike from the Waterford's 1991 catalogue, but the headsets and gear are all shiny not painted black, and it most definatly is a road racer, not mtn bk. All the components are Shimano with a Shimano decal along the lower rear fork.
the catalogue page link:

I'm selling it and have no idea what the valuation is. The paint is chipped and worn, theres a small ding on the horizontal bar. An incredibly fast and sweet ride, its sucks to have to let go of it.

Any thots from anyone??

The current serial number info on the Waterford site goes pretty much to the end of the Paramount production period, from what I can see (excepting the Paramounts built when the name was later revived in conjunction with Match, etc.). It would help if you would post photos. I've seen that paint scheme on both Waterford and Asian-made Paramounts. Juding by the serial number, yours sounds like one of the Asian-built ones. Again, with no photos to judge condition, or the level of components (though it's great they're "all shiny"), but going on the fact that it's chipped and worn and has a small ding, I don't think it has a ton of value. I would guess $150-250, roughly. As I say, photos would help.

Start one. Several members here have created various brand and model sites. A labor of love for sure. Start one, and other members will surely share pics and serial numbers with you.

Without any pictures, dings, chips and paint flaws = large discount.

Ah, a "Paramount" :p Here is one on velospace.org:

Curious, its the opposite of the Wheaties Paramount that for some reason I know about.
