Fifty Plus (50+) - What is the right colour of bicycle grease?

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

I know this question fits in the mechanics forum, but I think it is deeper than that and requires the wisdom, experience and maturity of those Fifty Plus.
As a kid, I used vaseline in my hubs because that was what we had around the house.
Recently, I've been using a tube of green grease, but am coming to the end of it.
Yesterday I stopped by the automotive section of the big box store and saw red, green and white grease. The selection overwhelmed me.

Red is the fastest.
You can still get Phil Wood, and it's green.

The SRAM Red Ceramic bottom bracket I got recently came with a syringe of what I'd call "Atomic Blue" grease. Sure looks hella fast.

I have two reds and a green. I use the Valvoline red primarily.

My Park Tool PolyLube1000 is blue green. I've had it a long time. Does grease expire?

Only until you want to ride it.
I've used red, brown, and various shades of green.
I like the 'teal' green; it's Slick 50 One grease.

What color is the bike? And do your other accessories match or contrast?

I'm confused. Then why do they call it Red when it uses Atomic Blue grease? Shouldn't it be SRAM Blue?

I think they are telling us that it doesn't matter the color.
I think Retro Grouch used white on his new bike he bought.
White is indeed the correct color. Like this:
See how nice that looks?

Nope but it can be contaminated if left in an open container or improper container.

Okay, so I won't use it in my Gel packs.
