pictured is the freewheel, I am guessing i need the park tool fr2 to remove it but want to make sure. thanks!

yes, you need a SunTour 2-prong tool. Either the park FR-2 or equivalent tool from another maker.

BTW- your photo was from so close up that I can't be sure if it's a problem or a result of the exaggerated perspective. But don't be too surprised if the tool won't fit over the locknut.

In any case, be sure to lock the tool firmly to the freewheel with the axle nut, lest it slip and break a prong. Once you've broken the freewheel loose (lots of torque needed) stop and loosen the axle nut to give the freewheel room to move out on the thread.
