Clydesdales/Athenas (200+ lb / 91+ kg) - Public Apology to Wogster

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.

Few days ago, I disagreed with some of his comment/opinions as I often do. But that was no reason for me to attack him with negative comments about his decent character. In a forum where we actually talk about cycling and other related issues, pass around valuable advice to one another, and all while being respectful to one another, I feel the need to apologize to Wogman. What I posted was uncalled for and distasteful. Sorry Dude!
If there is one thing that I have learrned from having a beautiful very unconfrontational wife, it's that a real man apologizes for his uneccesary actions and hurtful words when they are undeserved. I'm being a man and apologizing cause Wogman didn't deserve the attack and I/we must make an honest effort to keep this forum friendly. I also apologize to other cyldes and athenas that may have read the material, although nothing like attacks elsewhere onthenet, it was uncalled for and I apologize. I pride myself on stepping up when I am in the wrong!;)
So Wogster, if you were my wife, I'd kiss you on the forehead, say I'm sorry, nibble on your ear a little bit then make love to you. But judging from your avatar, you aren't at all my type so thank God you aren't my wife.:roflmao2:
I deleted the comments/post so you others don't go asking me "what?":D

Yup, that was GREAT advice!:thumb: In fact, I really don't want to leave this forum if/when I dip below Athena weight. I've tried other subforums here and they just can't compete with this one;)

If you think that was impressive, you should have seen the reconciliation emails between Sayre Kulp and me. Then again, our falling out was a lot nastier too. :-(

I have no idea what happened and it doesn't matter. Beanz - good on you for stepping up and apologizing sincerely, and Wogster - same at you sir for letting it slide off your back and accepting that apology. I come here because of this, there are very nice, caring people sharing their love of cycling without a lot of posturing and egos involved. Sweet.

Wog did nothing, He posted his opinon and I attacked his character for some unknown reason. Stuff happens but making it right is better than letting the uneccesary tension float around in the air. But good on him for letting it slide off his back even before I apologized. Yeah, this environment keeps 'em coming back to this forum. No sense in spoiling it now:thumb:

BTW, this isn't the first time Mr. Beanz has apologized for his postings here. We went at each other a couple of years ago. Like with the Wogster, we reconciled. I think we both recognized the other's awesomeness. :-)

I don't know what happened but it's good to see a reaffirmation of some norms of self-control and civility in the forum. These are sadly lacking in most of our culture these days.

I'm glad you've reconciled, group hugged, ear nibbled each other in a manly, supportive fashion as befitting the C&A forum.
But the first pair of people who link arms and starts singing "Kumbaya" are fed to the alligators.
Still, good we're all friends again!

I know your remark was made in jest, but it's just another sign of how contemporary America has twisted male friendship to make it fit the obsession with sex in our culture.

Male friendship is often based on competition in some way or another. Sayre Kulp and I are very good friends, for instance, but there's a competitive aspect as well. We each try to outdo the other in awesomeness.

That is true! I've never had a friend that didn't challenge me in one way or another. When I was pumping iron, I had lots of workout parners over the years. Most were always trying to catch me in poundage so it was cool. Other friends that knew they were to small would challenge me in foot races. It was all in fun and did win alot of money from my friends haha!
But a few times I'd get some guy that wanted to lift weights with me., Sure no problem. But they'd have inferiority complexes or something. It was thier first time pumping iron so I figured they'd struggle, no problem. I had a couple of short small guys say, "dude you're a big strong guy but I'd still "F" you up. I'd hit you in the head with a 2x4 then kick you while your'e down on the ground"....Where did that come from? I treated them like any other workout partner so those kinds of friends, see ya!:D
If it aint friendly, why bother? If I get my arse kicked in racquetball etc, I shake the dudes hand then say, "you were an animal today, next time buddy" with a smile. There is good competion then there are the babies, but it's always there IMO.:p
Mr. Beanz:
It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of apology for all Clydesdales/Athenas to see, and so there is iron in your words of hill climbing. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Mr. Beanz carries the same iron of weight loss and weight gain. It is good that Clydesdales/Athenas such as ourselves meet in the struggle of weight gain ... or weight loss. It shall be weight loss.

Beanz...Wog...consider your hands properly and "manly"-ly shaken, good on the both of ya. That's how men REPRESENT!
Hmm, competition........ I keep my competitive side pretty well buried; I'm hard enough to get along with NOW, forGET it when I get competitive!
