I was finishing up a Clive Cussler novel last night, Atlantis found. Clive is one of my favorite authors.
Towards the end of the novel, as our heroes are scampering across Antarctica in a monstous vehicle to save the world yet again from the forces of evil, the narrative mentions that the vehicle is only capable of maintaining 25 MPH, which is a speed easily sustained by a bicycle rider, but seemed slow to the heroes, considering the circumstances.
I read it twice, chuckling. Where are you getting your information Clive? Maybe the pro peleton, but not the 99.9% of us regular folks.
