I've been doin the research, but all I get is more confused.
My 01 XT rear derailler is shaking more than tokyo.
I'm running lx shifters , which seem sweet and dandy.
Should I go for more of the same or make the jump to XTR. I ride a mix of trails, and epic days, with the odd multisport race thrown in. What about rapid rise vs standard high normal. Has anyone spent much time using it on old shifters as I don't see a need to change them too.
Last but not least - with a 22-32-44 front and 12-32 rear, should I get a medium or long cage. I'm getting kinda sick of chain slap and sloppy shifts, do you reckon I'd notice the difference

Or jump over shimaNO and switch to Sram.

The difference between XT and XTR is not that great in performance, but bling and price, the difference is high. With that spread of gears, long cage is what you need.

Have no experience with SRAM, so cannot comment, but never had Any problems with Shimano XT so why change.

My XTR rear mech has adjustable spring tension...not many people use it but if you turn it up all the way it shifts noticeably faster. I haven't used anything made by SRAM so I can't comment on that, but I've heard good things.

C'mon tell me!!! :D And you better not be talking about the b-tension screw since that has zero to do with the spring tension...

So how does sram stand up? I say X.0 I think, on a Team DH (Norco). Are they more durable, and cheaper for their quality?

Also kona, 1 brake? What happened to the other? Which brake is missing, front or rear?
