66 year old retired elementary teacher who is not ready to retire to anything, yet. My wife and I are avid (year round) ultri-light (in the spring and summer) backers. Thirty years ago I ventured in to bike touring, but had to give it up as a skiing injury to my neck caused numbness and weakness in my left shoulder.
Found recumbent trike about a month ago and can't wait for the winter snow/s to disappear so I can start training and hit the road. I only have until the first of June to trail ride this year because I head for 6 months of backpacking in Europe.
I'm really looking forward to gleaning knowledge from you folks. I had previously owned a mountain bike ('80-'86), and in reading some of the messages, I had some major "Dahh" comments when I realized I hadn't considered an emergency took kit:o
I look forward to the forum, the support, and the reading.

Bikeforums.net is a forum about nothing but bikes. Our community can help you find information about hard-to-find and localized information like bicycle tours, specialties like where in your area to have your recumbent bike serviced, or what are the best bicycle tires and seats for the activities you use your bike for.
