Hiya I'm looking to upgrade my frame. I have a Avanti hotdog at the moment and I bent the back so my wheel turned in and got jamed, I bent it back but there is still a slight twist in the frame. I have been looking at some frames and decided I'm not goin to get a FS, but get another HT. I need a strong urban, djing frame that will support both dual crown and single crown forks.

thanks in advance Antoni

there's a few companies out there that make some great hardtail frames capable of taking dc forks.

i'm not sure how much they cost in austrailia, but you might want to check out .243 (www.243racing.com). they've got 3 frames for 2005 - a dh frame, a freeride frame and a slalom race frame. i'm pretty sure the first two can handle dc forks. the freeride frame is their original frame and i've ridden with one guy who's got one with a marzocchi dc on it.

the norco shore hardtails are capable of taking dc forks too. the torrent, rampage, manik...

there's also snipes, transition, evil and 24bicycles to name some others.

Around that price......Id personally pick either the Sinister DNA for street...or the Sinister Ridge for all around stuff, contact them about running a DC on it......but I know they can run 7inch SC's. Nothing better than a frame welded by FTW himself. The Evil DOC should also be out pretty soon......that looks sweet, but dont know if id take it over a DNA.

DNA - can run up to a 7inch

Ridge - Can run up to an 8

One question though.....why would you want a DC on a hardtail??

I want to put DC on my HT because im goin to start racing soon, and I also do a fair amount of freeriding. Racing on single crown is fine and up untill now freeriding was to but recently I've been bottoming out my forks (01 Z.1 drop-off's) on some local hucks. Plus i love the look and feel of DC on HT. im building up another bike hopefully will start the build by x-mas, for street and trials and this will be my freeride and downhill rig.

I was looking at .243 but no one near here stocks them that I know of, and I dont like to feel of the norco shore HT's they just dont feel right.

Craftworks Rail. I think it surpasses their warranty if you put a DC fork on it but ive seen one with Jr. Ts- a DH racer owned it- before.

You can find them here in queensland:

i rode a Rail for a bit and it was an ausome ride, but I dont want to take the chance and stick a DC on it. My mate runs DC drop-offs on his P2 and he has snaped 3 headsets he's only had the forks on for about 2 months. I'd rather get a HT frame that can take DC and not have to worry about snaped headsets or other problems. thanks anyway and a RAIL with jr. ts would look filth. :D

Yeah I wouldnt risk it either. But your money, your choice. I know the old Norco Rampages used to come stock with Jr. Ts. But i dontknow about the new ones.
