CL purchase today $85.00 and he would not come down. 134 mile round trip to grab it.

From what I can gather online it looks like a 1976 **Page from Sheldon Brown** (http://www.sheldonbrown.com/retroraleighs/catalogs/1976/pages/09-76-super-course.html).
Weinmann Brakes and levers, Normandy wide flange hubs, Hurét front and rear derailers, Nervar Sport crank. The chrome is real nice.
SN: WE 4005192 There is also what looks like the letter "K" horizontally over the number 5.
"CARLTON" on the seat tube and "CARLTON Race Proved Workshop England" on the fork.
Not all there Reynolds decal on the ST (I am going to assume 531 frame).
It also came with a very nice Brooks Champion Narrow B 17.

Ball park value of the bike?
With new tubes and tires it is ridable, shifts fine and looks straight as an arrow. My pics are crap because I don't know how to photograph indoors. I will grab a few natural light pics Saturday.

What is a nice Brooks Champion Narrow B 17 going for alone?

I need to quit buying bikes I know nothing about. :twitchy: However this is my size and would clean up nice.

Thanks for any help/information. Value or anything you feel like adding to the thread.
Cory

You paid $85 INCLUDING the Brooks? You could probably make your money back on that Brooks if you put it up on ebay.

$300 bike even as it is - and it seems that it needs a good cleaning and overhaul.
The paint and decals look excellent.
I''d do white cloth bar tape on this. (yes I know it's not so practical)

Sell the rack on eBay. Keep the bike!

great looking bike, now that couch.....
14 yr old and 17 yr old still at home....Carpet and couch stay for awhile. I would love new carpet but my kids are animals. 20 yr old in the US Navy came home for Christmas and dumped a bowl of chili all over the living room carpet.

I may just do that, I know its a sin but I'm not a fan of Brooks. The bike will have a vintage avocet saddle put on in the AM.

Rack is off, water bottle cage is off and what I thought was foam bar wrap turned out to be foam pipe insulation and electrical tape, also removed. I will remove the kick stand and junk gel seat Saturday (taken them off tonight would have required me to put on shoes and go to the garage for tools).

Also it is not a 1976, maybe it's a 1974. The '76 has 4 braze-on guides for the rear brake on the top tube. The '74 has 3, 2 front and 1 rear. My bike only has the 3 braze-ons.

Rack, kickstand, pipe insulation bar wrap and crap gel saddle are off. Avocet Touring II on. Stem and seatpost move freely (I did not check before handing over the cash) :innocent:.
