My two dogs love the kitty... one as a potential playmate (which, of course, the cat will have nothing to do with) and the other as a potential snack... or self moving "chase" toy (which the cat also will have nothing to do with!).

This picture hurt me to look at. When I was 4, my mother brought home a young half wild Siamese female. She (Genji) was a twin to yours. Genji quickly got preggers. We kept one of the kittens, a big orange male, just ike the one in the background. Best cats ever. She lasted 22 years, and the orange cat hit 20. Still miss them after 25 years.

That was a Fentanyl patch for pain. He promptly ripped it off an hour after he got home. I just got back from picking up some morphine drops from the vet to give to him instead.

You know, I thought that very thing. We use those patches frequently in hospice. We also use liquid morphine, so I am wondering if your vet does hospice on the side. I couldn't tell from the photo, but I am guessing that they shaved a little square for the patch. And you can see where they put the little kitty IV in his right paw.

We've got them where I work, too- I work in a trauma hospital. Fentanyl patches in 5 different strengths, liquid morphine in 3 different strengths, narcotics all over. It's a hassle keeping track of everything, but the penalties for not keeping track are huge.

We use liquid morphine at 20 mg/ml, administered sub-lingually, and for a while it was difficult to find since the FDA was making noises about discontinuing it.

Dumpster Kitty, slowly, slowly realizing there's more to life than hiding under the furniture.

Pretty cat - that Dumpster Kitty. Hopes she realizes out and about is more fun. I adopted a feral cat many years ago. I had her for 8 years. She never ever got used to me or anyone else and spent most of her life under the bed. I called her the "half-a-cat" (actually name "Squeak"). She was so beautiful but so lonely and afraid. It broke my heart. She eventually got sick and died... I was sad and glad at the same time. Couldn't have been a good life for her. The few times she actually came out and sat by me (always nearby never on or too close) were very special indeed - I will always remember those special times.

I think (hope) this one will come round. We can bribe her onto our laps with kitty treats, and she purrs happily for a bit. And she occasionally sleeps on the furniture rather than under it. But she does do an awful lot of cowering.
She's still a baby -- nine months or so. There's still time.

My little black cat looks like Shad Winkle, and she's a feral. Or was before she got caught and brought back to health by one of my internet friends in New York. She's been with me over 6 years, and still likes to be close but not too close, and only lets me pet her at certain times. The first time she came out to see what she'd been missing, she had this look that said "I was afraid of this?" She seems happy most of the time, and was really grateful we came home from the vet after her last visit. She knew she was back home, and didn't have to stay there.
