How do you ride during the winter? Surely it's more dangerous than anything? If there's a way, let me know, because I have a Trek Hybrid which I'll probably want to use. Advice is welcome.

I havent been doing much winter riding in the last 7 years. Before that I used cheap beater bikes (3 speed folder and police auction mountain bike) as sand and salt are not good for nice bikes. As the weather gets colder you need more layers of clothing.
When it is snowing cars are much more cautious about passing. There is nothing so pleasurable when you leave work at 0 degree F and hear people trying to start their cars with dead batteries, or scraping the ice off their windshields.

I haven't gone biking on a daily basis during the winter months; I really want to this year. I went out this morning (in south NJ) for a nice 15-mile ride; my feet were numb & my legs & esp my knees were ice cold! And it was only in the mid 40's or so! I'll really have to figure something out for when It gets colder.

check out Icebike ( ww.icebike.com ). Hot liquids do help, and there are a number of thermos that will fit. It's hard to beat the price of this one ( http://www.campmor.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?productId=9820650&memberId=12500226 ) I have it, it fits loosely in a cage, but it stays put. Mostly you want to be properly dressed. That means layering, it means blocking wind, and it means doing a lot of adding and subtracting layers to avoid either a lot of sweating or a lot of shivering. If you've ever downhill skiied, you can use those gloves. Feet are the worst problem. I'm still looking for a good solution there.
